Paris is cool and I like where I’m living.

We’re in the best apartment we’ve ever stayed in in Paris. It’s in a non touristy part of the city and it’s just so elegant and spacious which is rare for Paris. This afternoon we sat for an hour at a table outside a cafe along a canal and had drinks before going on elsewhere for dinner and it was a fine experience and we got a bit tearful with memories for almost 40 years ago when we lived here. Terrible flight to get here though. Got on the plane early and we’re going to take off 25 minutes early but the pilot hadn’t turned up and we sat for an hour waiting for him. And when he did get there he was a scruffy little boy having a misadventure with facial hair of some sort which didn’t inspire much confidence. Most of our fellow flyers were annoying - loud, banal conversations about nothing, listening to stuff on devices without using headphones etc. All the elegance and romance of air travel has now disappeared.

It is a shame that romance and elegance of air travel is gone these days.
