June 2, 2024, two NSA Astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Vilmore left earth for space in Boeing's Starline aircraft . Their mission -- to "test its capabilities for commercial space travel". They were supposed to be gone for eight days but complications developed and the two will be stuck at the space station till next year! I can't help wondering how they are feeling right now. . stuck in space, spending Christmas in space, away from family and friends - how would you cope? Here is the link: Pixabay image

I'd be frustrated. And how about the others at the ISS? They weren't expecting these extras!

I hope there is enough space at the station , and enough food. I wonder what the menu is like.

I saw that on the news. I guess I would be a little traumatized.

Just thinking of it is making me feel claustrophobic.

I feel bad for them since they are lost in outer space which is worse than being aboard a ship at sea or trapped in an island.

They are not actually lost , but must remain at the space station until next year because of problems with the spacecraft. And yes, that is worse than being aboard a ship at sea ...

I hope they have enough oxygen and food. This is really passion in what you love to do, and this is really faith, believing and trusting one another - risking their lives for the things they think mankind will benefit from it. Salute to them!

I would have a major anxiety attack and if I survived I would be feeling ill and terrible most of the time and ready to sue those responsible when I returned,

I guess they knew what the possibilities were when they signed up, but of course that doesen't make it easier for them and their families back on earth. I couldn't do it.

I read about that yesterday. I wouldn't fancy it - but then I wouldn't fancy going to the ISS at all! I'm sure they will cope, they have been chosen to be the right sort of people to deal with that kind of eventuality!

Yes, l suppose they knew exactly what they signed up for. I for one don't even like traveling in an airplane.

Wow, that’s wild! Spending an unexpected holiday season in space must be tough. I’d try to stay positive by focusing on the amazing experience and connecting with loved ones through messages.
