For The First Time In 21 Years

It's been 21 years since we last had 2 American men and women into the US Open tennis semifinals. Way back in 2003 we had Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick on the men's side and Lindsay Davenport and Jennifer Capriati on the women's side. This year 3 of the 4 are first timers into a grand slam semifinal. Francis Tiafoe was in last year's semi. He will face his good friend Taylor Fritz. Head-to-head Taylor leads 6-1. By them playing one another, it guarantees we will have an American in the final, something not done since 2006 when Andy Roddick made it losing to Roger Federer. Emma Navarro will face this year's Australian Open winner Aryna Sabalenka while Jessica Pegula will compete against Karolina Muchova. Karolina has made the French Open final last year losing to Iga Swiatek. I am excited to see the US players finally going deep into grand slams, especially here at the US Open. Do you like tennis? Who do you root for?

I like tennis since my childhood. I root for Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer when they played tennis.

My sister used to love Jennifer Capriati. She was so sad when it was revealed about her struggle with substance abuse and her career tanked. It seemed like America was never going to get another good male tennis player, but it is very nice to see two American men kind of push through.

She had such talent but no one to guide her properly. Sadly, poor choices led her down a dark path, even still today from articles that read. I am excited to see how that match plays out on Friday. Should be a good one.

I was never much interested in tennis until a year I went to see Dixie´s eldest daughter (then working in Miami) and she was addicted to tennis (we had 2 very good twnnis players that year) and she got me into the forensic shows. Whenever I now watch tennis, I remember that first time. Awesome.

I do not follow tennis. I have only played it once, and that was on a lovely hot summer day years ago in England when I was working in a hotel by the seaside.
