I went to see my Mum in hospital again today. (5/9/2024)

We set off at about 2:30pm, and I took a Tesco magazine that I got yesterday for her. It was threatening rain and it was windy out. I wore my grey coat without the hood which is very warm. Underneath I was wearing my new white blouse that I got from the big Tesco yesterday. We went up on the lift. These lifts are much posher than the ones in Tesco, and they speak to you. The ones in Tesco used to do that, but they don't any more. Mum was happy to see us again. I gave her the Tesco magazine. Then I took my coat off, because it was very hot in that room. My Mum said, Oh, I don't remember that blouse, and I said, I got it from the big Tesco yesterday with my money. The lady who was in the bed next to my Mum, Margaret, has now gone into a nursing home. The other two beds opposite have also got new patients in them. One of them is Barbara but she likes to be called Barbie. I don't know the name of the other lady. One of them, who had bright red hair, had some visitors when we first got there. When they had gone the lady, who was a bit confused, said, I want to go home. Excuse me! Can you show me the way out please? I want to go home! My Mum said, You can't go! You've got to stay here! A lady came round asking the patients if they wanted a hot drink. Tea? Coffee? Choc-olate! My Mum said she didn't want anything. She said, I like the way you say choc-olate! The lady said, Do you want some choc-olate? And my Mum said, OK, I'll have some choc-olate! So the lady got my Mum a hot chocolate. My Mum said she'd got a water infection. A nurse tested her wee when she went in a potty on top of the loo. But she said she didn't think that was why she's still in. She said they were trying to put together a "care package." But my Mum said she didn't want a "care package," because last time she came out of hospital and the nurses came round to see her they'd ask, Do you want anything? and she'd say, No, thank you, and then they'd just go. So it would be a waste of their time really. She told one of the nurses that she didn't want a care package. The nurse said, Well you can go home this afternoon then! But she's still there! She says she thinks they're still sorting out a "care package!" One of the other patients was given some grapes, but they couldn't have them, so they were given to my Mum. So we were eating grapes all the time. I had a look through Mum's Tesco magazine before I gave it back to her. The Paralympics were on the telly, but I wasn't really interested in that. We left to go home about 4:45pm. Syd went to the toilet before we came out. Then we went back down on the lift and came home. What have you lot been getting up to today? I hope you are all well. Have a great evening.

You have been busier than me today. I've sorted out a couple of work things on the school website. And I've played card games. It's lunch time, I should move before Hubby comes home and sees I'm not even dressed.

I'm glad you went to see your Mum. My husband's 2nd cousin took me to my eye doctor's appointment; and then I treated her to an early dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse. Have a good weekend.

Thank you very much. My Mum is feeling fine. It's just this care package that they're sorting out that she doesn't want. I hope she can come home soon. We had some rain yesterday, but it wasn't much. I think it looks a bit brighter today.

I hope you had a good plane journey. When my Mum had her brain aneurysm she was in for 6 months! I hope she's out soon too. She says they'll bring her back in the ambulance.
