Florida In February?

Okay. I love Florida. So, we had a great time on our last trip and even though I am a panhandle guy, our trip recently to Lake Mary was fantastic. So, I am thinking, I hate winters. Just hate them. My wife's birthday is February 6th. So, I asked our friends out there, "How is the weather in February?"
I am thinking about putting together another trip to Florida in February for the wifey's birthday, which I have not told her about yet.
They have not responded to me yet, but as retirement continues, more and more, the plan is to become snowbirds. It's still a bit of a drive at around 15 hours or so. But I am so tired of winters I want to find more and more excuses to hang out there.
Any other Florida residents want to tell me how the weather is in February? Because I really want to go.

Stay away from the panhandle. It's cold there and occassionally gets snow. The further south in Florida you get, the warmer it is. Febuary turns to be our coldest month, that and the begining of March. I live in Daytona which is kind of busy near the end of the month due to speed weeks.

@thislittlepennyearns The panhandle does occassionally get snow. At least the parts of it where my sister used to live. I am not saying it happens every year. We can go several years without a bad winter, but I was covering my basis. We have had bad winters where it's been cold. The worst is usually in Febuary and the start of march.
It's been about ten years, but for a few hours, we actually got snow down here in Daytona. It was so bad that year, we were using sand because we don't have salt trucks here. That's how rare snow is in the sunshine state.
I now live in Daytona, and it's about five degrees warmer than my home town of St. Augustine. So the further north you are, the colder it can be.

We are not going to get snow in February. We had 70 degree days this year in Feb.

@kaylachan We do sometimes get snow, but its in December and January. I live here, I know what the weather is like here.
Two years ago we had ice on Christmas, but not snow. We haven't gotten snow in YEARS.

What about flying down there and renting a car. Splurge a little. Have a good weekend. Great picture.

@porwest I'm afraid to fly anymore except in small planes (which are more prone to accidents).

I think you should come see me in Feb. It's usually pretty nice here in Feb.
Plus I'm in the Panhandle, way cooler than Gainesville.

I don´t live in your country but you do know that I hate winter and cold. Besides, it is very expensive. I either spend money in heating the house or I do it in doctors and pills.
Is that your picture?

I hope your friends respond so you can make your plans.
My niece and her fiancé worked in the panhandle for about a year to year and half. They liked it there. He works as a supervisor/overseer of building solar fields, so they move around the country every couple of years to build a new field. They just finished in Oklahoma, were sent to Texas for about 2-6 months before they go to Kentucky for their next project.
As for me and Florida I have never been.

I would think very temperate. When I visited my dad in Fort Myers, Fl. in February the weather was cool in the mornings (60's) but warmed up to 70's-80's by mid-day. Better than worrying about snowfall!
