Do you let them record you?

A lot of you do surveys, and in the last year I noticed a lot of them ask for access to your camera to record your reaction to what they are going to show you. I always say no (since it is not a requirement, but a request). Do any of you actually say yes (PV is best at NOT doing it, and SJ and ID are the worst in my experience). I don’t trust that at all. What do you guys think?

@ambiepie I’d be very wary of letting anyone record me - dear knows how it could be manipulated.

I need to log into SJ, and do some surveys. I know they are the best paying ones, and its nearing on Christmas. so all the earning I can do lol What other websites do you use? It's been forever since we've talked, which is probably my fault. LOL

Besides SJ and PaidViewPoint, just SB, Mypoints, and InboxDollars (I don’t bother with their games). I tried Prime Op. but it was like pulling teeth for me.

@AmbiePam there is also Qmee I do well there, Prime Opinion, and Branded Surveys, I just recently cashed out for the third time on Paid ViewPoint, I love Crowdtap for gift cards and use them to order stuff from Amazon and occasionally for Walmart if it is close to my ordering day,

@RasmaSandra What do you consider well? Just trying to see which ones are worth the time or not. In a few minutes I'm going to grab my notebook and log the websites I am actively using now.

I do. It isn't something I worry about. I have enough real things to worry about. They usually give you privacy assurances if you do something like that anyway, and of course they always pay more.

The ones that pay more for letting them record you are ones I have yet to use. If I did, I might feel differently. Right now, the ones that ask me, don’t pay extra so there is no motivation.

@AmbiePam I should say not! If it paid the same..Heck no, would I let them record me. That is like the mystery shopping company..They try to get away with some of these recorded shops paying the same as one that does not require that. Big surprise..no one will do them, and they end up adding huge bonuses.

I have no camera on my PC and if I did I would not give them access,

I've done a couple with Crowdtap but today found my account disabled. I answer all honestly and been doing this for months so now annoyed. Heard this is common when they get too many on there. Makes me wonder what they do with the video stuff now. Not doing it anymore.

I think three other Mylotters said their accounts were disabled on Crowdtap too.

@AmbiePam Yes. I'm finding that. I was super careful answering and honest. I did the "tests" for paying attention carefully. Seems they do this when people cash out and wondering if they don't delete a lot of people instead of paying out a lot of money.

I would stay away from such surveys. The recording could be misused in many ways. Worse, even if we complain , the person who has the recording may not be even in same country. There are apparently lot of risks with same. Worse, we will never know of what the recording is being used for . Especially with deepfake and AI technologies around , anything is possible . Even I have seen such surveys and have always stayed away from such ones. It is not worth the money versus risk factor involved. Lets take the money with safe ones.

I use my desktop, so they cannot. I would not, even if I could.

I cover my camera, so I am sure they do not access it even if I say no.

@AmbiePam Better safe than sorry, how may we be sure they are not using our image to do something illegal?

I wouldn't let them do this. There are enough intrusions into our privacy as it is. This one, at least we have some control over.

I normally avoid those. Prolific asks for that a lot. Have a good weekend.

It is not a compulsory requirement for survey or like that in online mood. Although it is not a Goverment job interview or something like that for security purpose. I have gone through surveys last but never found those kind of surveys and probably not allowed to webcam permission.etc.etc

I am not much into survey. I am only on YouGov, Toluna and Rakuten. Only once I got such survey asking for recording. I declined it. I am not comfortable doing so as I fear that it might be misused and manipulated.

Me too, always say no to their request. We have the right to disagree, if it is not necessary.
