I had scored some yummy Thai food. I was finishing up my evening. I was ready for bed. But I heard something in my left ear. It was the sound of water boiling on my stove. I re-filled my tea and turned the stove off., Had I not heard the sound, I might have woken up an hour from now to the smell of a distressed pot. Have your senses ever saved you from a "senior moment"?

Don't know, but I did leave the house once for the day without turning off the stove. (It was Juanita's fault-- she's always rushing me out the door.)

I think I'm too young for senior moments. But, I did hear strange sounds coming from the kitchen and was able to turn off the stove. My mom had left the stove on, with a pan on it, and well.... house was saved from burning down. sadly the pan could not be saved. the bottom had burned through.

For reasons like that and when I get too involved on my PC I boil water in an electric auto shut off pot and I even have a rice maker and my toaster oven turns itself off when done, I think I have all the bases covered Almost forgot if the cat bowl get empty that fact is followed by distressed meows,

Time and time again my sense of smell has alerted me to something burning.

I'm lucky that so far I haven't left the stove on....but then I don't use the stove anymore. I'm glad you heard the water boiling. Have a good weekend.
