I agree with the judge..it's criminal. The two protesters both received jail time for their idiotic act. The painting of the Sunflowers by Van Gogh was heavily damaged by them throwing soup all over it. They are protesting oil and coal and fossil fuels in the UK. This happened at London's National Gallery. Twits. There are tons of links to the story if you are interested to research further.

It was insane what they did to Van Gogh's painting, there are other ways to protest, they deserve the jail.

Damaging a Van Gogh painting on purpose ? Wow !. I believe a heavy fine and hours of community service should have been the punishment.

There are plenty of ways to protest without destroying things. That's why peaceful protest is allowed usually. It's the ones that get violent, loud and rowdy that usually get people arrested.

They wanted the attention and they got it, I hope they don't mind jail time. Actually, they might even wear it as a badge of honor. Radical activists are like that. Like gangs, I guess. Thankfully the painting was protected by glass, it seems it happened before so they took precautions.
