I bought a new kitchen device

I surrendered to the Air Fryer, for a long time I thought I didn't need it, I used the oven to do a lot of the things that Air Fryers do.
But during the summer, turning on the oven heats up the house a lot and some foods don't turn out exactly the same as when cooked in the Air Fryer.
I was looking for a very specific one, I wanted one with a stainless steel or glass bowl. 99% of those on the market have a non-stick coating, which is very dangerous for our health.
Today, the one I wanted was on sale. It cost €115, but I bought it for €83. Next week it will arrive home.
Let's see if I get used to cooking in it and if it really makes cooking easier as they say.
What was the last kitchen device that you bought?
Picture of the Air fryer I bought today.

I really enjoy my air fryer, and I find you can cook more foods in it than you think.

@nela13 More than you would think. I was just reading last night you can even make cookies in them The majority of the things I have made in my fryer have turned out quite well. They should send a booklet with some recipes in it

It is a Toaster Oven with an air fryer feature. I do not know if I would recommend the one I have because the air fryer feature makes a complete mess of the unit so that I have to wait for it to cool down then completely clean the inside of it.

@nela13 I almost wish I hadn't bought it, because George and I don't really use it, but now it's here.

@kaylachan I don't use it often too but there are some cakes that I mix everything there and it is practical.

An Air Fryer that I brought back
I did not like the fact that it was a non-stick coated, I tried French fries in it and my husband told me to go "the old way, or renounce to the fries". I got the message. I fry very little food, I do not need one.

I bought a deeper casserole dish because the ones I have could easily have the food go over and make a mess

That looks like a very basic air fryer. The Ninja 12 in 1 multi cooker does every kind of cooking except microwaving, but don’t ask me to name them all. Last kitchen device I bought was a grinder for my nuts and seeds.

I think this one is enough for what I want, if it isn't I can always return it.

When air fryers first came on the market 7 or 8 years ago, I began with one like you pictured here.
I liked the way that the food tasted after being prepared in it, and the time factor as well as the fact that it didn't heat up the kitchen.
When that one was getting worn, I bought an air fryer oven, which allows me to do a couple of things at the same time because there are oven racks in it. I love that appliance.

The kitchen device I bought was a rice cooker back in 2022. But recently my mother bought a toaster oven. My uncle had a toaster oven, but he never cleaned it and the numbers were worn off. So she bought me a new one.

Yeah, I usually think of the air fryer as a mini oven. I like that the one you bought is transparent.

@nela13 Nice, I wasn't sure it was glass. Very easy to wash then.

That’s terrific! Every single person I know with an air fryer is always glad they got one. I would like one too, but I probably wouldn’t use it enough to justify buying it. The last kitchen item I bought was a blender about eight years ago.

I’m a simple girl when it comes to cooking. I learned everything from my grandma, Phyllis, and I don’t see the need for all these new kitchen gadgets that everyone talks about. To me, they just seem like a waste of money. They’ll probably end up gathering dust and insects instead of helping. My oven and stove work perfectly fine, and I prefer to do things the old-fashioned way, just like Grandma Phyllis taught me.

I understand you, so far I only use an oven and stove but this device seems to help and I decided to give it a try. I also cook as my mom taught me but I think she will like this air fryer too.

I am also looking to buy one. It is better one healthwise compared to regular frying. Wanted to reduce the use of oil and well soon I shall read about your reviews and dos and donts. I have also noted the point we should not be looking of the non-stick coating one. And I totally agree it helps cooking and make it looks simple. The last kitchen device I bought would be a fridge , the first one I purchased for home. Bought a medium one as there was no point in having a big one with things we buy and use. Perhaps , might upgrade the same in future. The air fryer looks great as per the picture. Enjoy the day!
