My View This Morning

It's the last camp of the season and we're in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. It will be the whole fam in. We've got our camper in spot 75 and my sister and brother-in-law rented a camper and will be in the spot next to us, and dad's got his motorhome across from us. We got in last night, but the sister and brother-in-law won't get in until tonight. We're basically celebrating my dad's 75th birthday, which luckily we get to celebrate considering we wouldn't be doing anything like this had he not had that triple bypass a few months ago. He's had a remarkable recovery by the way. But this is my view this morning. Just love it.

We had a cold spell just before this weekend camping trip hit. We were in the 80s and 90s the whole time. We could not have asked for better weather.

@LadyDuck We had some pretty wild wet spells this summer. It was annoying.

What a beautiful view. What time is it? Ours we couldn't see a beautiful morning for we had a raging typhoon. The lowland was flooded with water from a continuous heavy downpours for several days.

@Nakitakona I am sure you are accustomed to such weather much like people in Florida are accustomed to hurricanes.

It's a really nice campsite to boot. Been here a couple of times, close to amenities and not that far from home.

Not a bad view at all, but it would have been even more amazing if you cleared all those RVs out of the way! lol

@porwest That’s one of the reasons I like to do remote backpacking and camping. You find that perfect spot in the middle of nowhere, and you have the entire place all to your own.

@moffittjc One of these days we might try boondocking, but it seems like quite an undertaking.

The great thing is your father is able to celebrate his 75th birthday. A blessing indeed. I know someone who had a triple bypass in 2014. He is now in his early seventies and doing fine.

That’s wonderful that your family can all be there, and that your Dad recovered well enough to be there, too. That wa a big surgery. I hope you have the best time, and make some memories to treasure.
