I was not going to ask for groceries yet. But the lack of decent bread made me write a small list and it will arrive tomorrow.
My normal breakfast includes bread with several possible yummy things on top. I was raised with bread. I don´t even think about buying cereal and I don´t like it.
So I have avocados, tomatos, butter, honey, cheese and ham. And if I want to work a bit, I also have eggs and bacon.
But there are some things that I can´t live without. I remember that when I smoked, I put ciggies and toilette paper in the first place
Now I need onions and garlic. And oregano. AND BREAD!!!
What are those things that you can´t do without?

I learned here in mylot that in your country you ate rice in quantities. I like rice but not for breakfast.

yes, Rice is a staple food here. Most but not all eat rice three times a day.
Our family did not practice that. We usually have bread for breakfast, but not cereal or oatmeal.
At times but usually on weekends, I cooked fried rice for breakfast. But when we do that, we definitely have lunch very late.

My breakfast is a cup or two of coffee (or tea if I have the one I like) and bread with any of the things I mentioned.

@wolfgirl569 I am waiting today for bread for hotdogs and sausages. I bought a lot of weenies just in case Luna needed pills but she got well with the antibiotic shot. She only has to wait until her fur grows. I now have several weenies so I bought the bread for them.

I normally have a little of everything I might need. As I live alone, I make my meals depending on the wish of the day. But this time they brought me a bread I could not eat from the supermarket.

@marguicha I can feel you. I sometimes cannot eat from the supermarket. I prefer if it comes from the bakery shop directly.

@Shavkat Baker shops are much better. I usually buy bread and other such goods when I go to the doctor. There is a bakery across the street.

@sallypup Melted cheese and ham is my favorite. I even add a tiny bit of oregano on top.

I only had cereals for breakfast the year I was in the US when I was a child. It was that or a plastic bread that had nothing to do with the French bread my Mom bought at the bakers.

There is a saying here that with your love, you could live on bread and onions. I once caramelized onions and discovered that it was not a poor people´s diet at all.

Well, see how priorities change over time. BREAD has replaced ciggies. And I will say it's a good and positive change that I see in you. There is a point of time when we give preference to our family, to our eating habits, to the groceries that we want and put everything aside. Nothing comes first than these things.
If you compare your and mine eating habits, we generally don't use too much bread, especially in the breakfast. Breakfast, it is said, should be tummyfull. That should be the biggest in terms of volume. The lunch should be a bit lesser and lighter. And the dinner should be the lightest meal of the day.
Well, was a boring you... Sorry if I were. But it's just that I couldn't hold back

@marguicha, Yup. The the case of using or in fact I should say, not using healthy oil seems to be a prevalent issue at a number of places. I was quite aware that they don't use such healthy oil that we use in our households to prepare food in hotels and restaurants. I think the oil they use is of low quality and affordable. That's why they can make out larger profits.
Am I right when I describe that if you are having your stomach turning, it's because of this smell of the oil and I should add its because of the low quality?

I know many people (Tania included) that think a lot how healthy it is to eat this or that. I have discovered that my body is wise and tells me what to eat, when to do it and what to skip. I would never eat at a fast food chain for instance. The smell of the oil they use makes my stomach turn.

@nela13 Today Tania confessed to me that at her home she only ate black bread not because she liked id it, but because she thought it was healthier. I like to eat things that appeal to me. When Tania comes here if seems that she has been hungry for ages She first saw me making a piece of warm bread with plenty of butter for me and she could not resint the temptation.

I´m an addict to chocolate so I don´t buy any. When someone brings me some as a gift, I hide it until I´m alone and eat it in 2 seconds. I´d be ill and poor if I bought all I want.

@thislittlepennyearns I used to buy more when my husband was alive. Now I have to take care of my budget. And the chocolate I love most is the expensive one.

@marguicha We always buy chocolate. It's a staple. Sometimes its in cake form, or ice cream, or cookies. Or sometimes its just candy. You only live once, you might as well enjoy it.

In food items , I am flexible . I do not have a desire for any specific food item and I am so far been luckky to adapt to whatever is possible. Partially , this is because I used to travel a lot and lived in different countries . Thus I was able to have the cuisines and food ietms from local culture. So never had an item which I cannot live without. The closest would be water , but then everyone needs water. However, i drink a lot water and it is just plain water. I have cut down on the sodas and beverages and rarely have them. So , water would be something I would need anywhere and everywhere. Good to know about your food interests! Enjoy the week!

Toilet paper? Did smoking help you with bowel movement?
I'm trying to cut down on dairy, guess I can't live without milk or cheese.

I don’t like eggs, but I really love bread with different toppings. I enjoy ham and cheese, peanut butter and bacon, peanut butter and jam, and turkey and cheese. When I don’t have bread, I make pancake sandwiches. I also like to bake banana bread, pineapple cake, pumpkin cake, and carrot cake. I love my cereals too, especially oatmeal and Honey Nut Cheerios with almond milk.
