We went to the big Tesco again today. I wore my big coat with the hood because it was raining. I posted a couple of letters first in the post box in the foyer of the Tesco, then I got rid of the soft recycle as usual. Then we went up on the lift. First I got the 2 TV magazines again because no-one went to the little Tesco yesterday again to get them. Then I went round the other side and got a Doctor Who magazine and a stamping magazine. Then I got a snickers for Syd. He wanted to have a change from a bounty bar! Then I managed to get some seaweed thins. I got 2 bottles of water, and 3 prawn layered salads. My Mum got herself some sugar free polo mints. Then I went to get a nose unblocker stick because I didn't like the spray, and today I managed to get one! But I couldn't get any of Mum's pads again. When Mum caught up with me again she had two octagonal shaped tubes of Smarties for Charlie and Noah. Next we went to the fruit and veg section and got the usual stuff. But I didn't get a lemon because it actually makes my dinner taste a bit sour when I have it. I couldn't get any edamame beans again. Maybe they are out of season? But I got some easy peelers for my Mum. After that we went and got 5 (Yes 5) bottles of milk, and my yoghurts and Mum's puddings for Sunday. Then I got some grated cheese and some mini pork pies for my Mum. Then we went to the vegan and ready meals isle. I got some tofu, some plant based pieces instead of chicken to cook for Monday's lunch, and 4 Fridge Raiders meat free bites. My Mum got her own ready meals. Then I got some sesame oil and olive oil and I got some mustard for my Mum. Next I got 2 lots of Tilda egg fried rice for my Mum and some soy sauce for me. Syd wanted a chinese chow mein pot noodle, a tin of spring vegetable soup and some sardines from the canned isle. Next we went to the cakes. Mum got a load of cakes for the house group tonight! She also got some chocolate eclair cakes for their supper tonight and some cherry Bakewells for them. Then she went and got some marmalade. After that I went and got some pringles, a bottle of Ribena and some crisps for Syd. Then I went to look for some wagon wheels for Syd but I couldn't find them because they'd been moved, but Mum found them! She got some biscuits for herself. Then I went and got 2 boxes of Alpen cereal with no added sugar. Then we went to the frozen section and I got my Vegan Magnum ice lollies and some frozen mixed veg for my Mum. Then I went round the other side and got a box of 4 baked potatoes for my Mum. I got it down with my walking stick, and two fell out so I had to put one back! Then I got a large bag of McCain crinkle cut chips for my Mum. Then I got some battered cod, some prawns and my salmon chunks, while Mum got some gastro battered fish. My Mum wanted some tissues, so I went and fetched those and then we went to pay. The lady on the till asked if I wanted her to start scanning before everything was on the conveyor belt and I said yes. My Mum went and sat on a bench. When the bags were packed they were crammed so full they were almost bursting! I left the Alpen cereal out of the bags and the magazines and my water went in my tote bag that I carry with me. It came to just over £180! That was with club card and TV magazine voucher added! By the time I got to the bench it was nearly time to go. We went down on the lift and when we got into the undercover car park, Syd was already there. We put the bags of shopping in the boot, and they were very heavy, especially this one bag! When we got home I unpacked the groceries and put them away. Then I had my dinner and watched some telly. Then I put the recycle out ready for the recycle man tomorrow. Then I had a cup of tea and watched some more telly! Stuart came to pick my Mum up for the house group at just after 7:00pm and she took the cakes she'd bought for the house group in a Tesco carrier bag! I'm watching some more telly now. What have you lot been getting up to today? I.hope you are all well. Have a great night.

@rakski A house group is when a small group of people from Church go to someone's house and they talk about the Sunday's preach, sing some songs, have fellowship and eat CAKE!

Sounds like a lot of shortages at the store. Glad they had the magazines you enjoy.

Well, at least I could get most of what I wanted. I'm glad they had my magazines too - especially the Doctor Who magazine that had a FREE paperback novel of The Evil of the Daleks by Frazer Hines who played the Doctors companion Jamie McCrimmon in that serial.

Your post was very interesting. For me, your buys are like being in another world. My grocery buys are almost none prepared or canned food. My "luxury" is a cake once in a while.

@sharonelton I buy some meat (mostly chicken and fish), groceries for the pantry (rice, pasta and legumes), veggies (from potatos to lettuce) and stuff to clean the house. And if I have enough money, I also buy yummy things for breakfast like ham, salami or cheese. AND my luxury dessert as I don´t eat much fruit: a cake.

@marguicha That sounds great. I don't eat meat but I do eat fish. And lots of veggies. I wish my Mum would cook from scratch more rather than have the ready meals, but she's getting on and she doesn't like to, or can't, stand for long periods. So she'll bung a ready meal, or some jacket potatoes or a pizza, in the oven or microwave, then she can go and sit down while it's doing! Sometimes she'll fall asleep and I'll have to shout "MUM! The microwave's pinged!"

Thank you very much, I'm glad you think so. It's my Mum and Syd who eat the prepared and canned food. I tend to try and cook from scratch as much as possible, except when I'm having a prawn layered salad! I hope you enjoy your luxury cake! What do you get when you go grocery shopping?

@sharonelton A small group from my church meet on my veranda once a month. We discuss the bible and sing hymns. We also drink coconut water from coconuts on the property.

You had quite a time. I had a doctor’s appointment this morning, then went to two pharmacies. I ended up having lunch with my dad, stepmom, and a family friend as well. It was a lovely day overall.

Thank you very much. Well, I got most things. It's a pity I couldn't get those edamame beans. Yes, my Mum wanted to come round with me this week because she wanted to choose the cakes for the house group herself. It was dull and cold the first half of this week, but then today it came out sunny again, which was good for me because the sun was shining in on me as I was doing my painting. Thank you very much. I hope you are well. Have a great night.

@Sharonelton I let from the heat of Athens to a wet Ireland in a plane whose seats are far too close to each other.

Oh, dear! I'm sorry the seats on the plane were too close to each other. I guess they want to cram in as many people as possible!
