You should look at the world around you. Look around and see what is going on around you.
When you are in a car you should look all around to make sure the other drivers are not doing something off the wall. Like driving through a red light or not stopping at a stop sign. Be on the look out for what someone else might do.
When you are walking outside you should look around you to make sure you are safe. You just never know what someone else might do.
Just pay attention to what is around you where ever you go. The world is not as safe as it used to be.
Look around you.

I agree. Being a street smart is the best thing to learn so we can always be aware of our surroundings and the people around us.

I told all my kids while they were growing up to look around them when they go somewhere.

When I used to drive I always practiced defensive driving; and I'm always aware of people around me. Yes, you should always look around you. Have a good day.

That's about what my father told me about driving: don't worry too much about making mistakes, be very wary of other drivers instead.
But really, even walking in daylight is dangerous these days.
