Wednesday is a Ladies' Day..

Here in Kenya, Wednesday is treated as a special day for women. Most media houses give ladies the best coverage and favours around here. Restaurants will have a number of women or girls who've been taken out for lunch and dinner. Songs are also played selectively by dJs on wednesdays so as to recognize beauty and importance of women. This makes me feel glad because I really appreciate women. My mom took care of us since my dad died quarter a century ago. I used to lunch out with my late daughter on Wednesdays when she was home for school holidays. I hope wednesdays are also used to appreciate women in your country.

That's so nice. Here, we do have few days like Women's Day and Mother's Day or some health awareness day creating awareness about women's health in particular. But having one day every week is a great way to keep reminding about their importance. Women are half the population and half the human resource in any society. We need to acknowledge it and respect it for the betterment of society and the country.

We have Mothers' Day here but that's about all. That's nice that your country shows its appreciation to the women.

Sure, women are destiny carriers and should be loved. Still, around here there are some men who get brutal and harm women. You remember the discussion I shared about a man who burnt the athlete love?

@SIDIKIMPOLE I vaguely do but I think it was a while ago. There is a lot of domestic violence here too.

@SIDIKIMPOLE There is a lot of government money being spent trying to address the domestic violence issue.
