Countdown to the End of the Year

This is a summation of what has happened since September. The month of September was still quite hot in Florida. My desktop PC is affectionately named Max. Max was crabby and struggling because of the hot weather and my AC was not cooling it down enough. Finally, my friend Nick who knows all about cranky PCs put Max closer to the AC, and that took care of this problem.
To me, October was all Halloween and scare-fest since Max came knocking on my door. This is one hurricane I never want to see again, My cats and I survived but my anxiety maxed and it took about two weeks to start getting back to normal just as I got settled again along came the election news and when I opened my email there were all these awful headlines.
We all know how the beginning of November was and who won the election, Even though not everyone is happy with the results as they say we know what has happened and we have to just keep going on.
Now I am faced with two holidays Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Thanksgiving provides fond memories of my mom when we lived in NYC. Her apartment building was full of retired senior Latvians and everyone mostly came to our apartment for turkey. My mom and I had the tradition that once the turkey was in the oven we looked forward to watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. So on that day I will look on YouTube and see if I can find Macy’s parades from the late 70s and early 80s.
Christmas is easy with lots of special memories but even though dates might vary I look at it as the birthday of Jesus. The Lord has blessed me with a lot of good and I will wish Him a Happy Birthday, I want to purchase an artificial Christmas tree one that can be taken out of the box and set up. Then the cats can enjoy it, ignore it, or do whatever to it, I will watch my old videos of Christmas movies.
Those are my sentiments on the countdown to the end of the year.
Thought the photo might amuse you, Freddie is on top of the bookcase where I keep some clothes, He had just spotted a bird flying by the window,

I can well imagine what will happen to your Christmas tree if the cats decide to make it their toy (lol)

Freddie looks alot like Nico. Nico is enthralled with squirrels. He doesn't often get to see birds up close and personal.

I have certain movies I watch at Christmas time. I'll post about them later. I bet you miss Latvia and have many fond memories. I had forgotten about the parades.

Nice that you have planned what you are supposed to do on Christmas. I am also fond of watching Christmas-inspired movies when Christmas is nearing. Before I used to search it at youtube but 5 years ago, I started watching it through Netflix. Freddie is like Tom of Tom & Jerry
