Last month I had the opportunity to visit Bran Castle in Transylvania, Romania. It's also known as Dracula's Castle as it inspired many of the design's for the castle where Dracula lived in the books and movies and also because Vlad the Impaler used to be there.
The outside view was spectacular, as you can see from the photo.
The inside was rather disappointing. It was kind of drab and plain, but then again what does Dracula need other than a coffin? There were steep stone steps to climb several floors up without any handrails, so it was quite the challenge.
It was the highlight of my trip to Romania.

@looeyville I’m hoping for Bucharest in May. Last attempt failed - Paris got in the way.

I really enjoyed Bucharest. By far my favorite on the river cruise from Budapest to Bucharest. Very quaint. Very old-school in a way.

It really was. And naturally I bought spooky Transylvania and Dracula souvenirs.

Dracula probably wasn’t into modern decor. So glad you got to see it, thanks for sharing the pictures!

I thought that was you!!! I'm glad you're back. That's a cool castle. I could not have climbed steps without handrails. Have a good day.
