When I went on a foreign tour I got to see these dispensers about which I had only read in magazines specially the Archie Comics. It was my dream one day to make use of it and I got the opportunity in Rotterdam I got some chocolates using this dispenser That was years ago and now you can see them here, there and everywhere. It is an automated retail service where quite a few categories of items can be bought by putting money in the slot machine - even sanitary napkins. With online shopping there could be less demand for such service

We also have dispensers here. Usually they sell drinks, snacks, flowers or little gifts. I haven't consumed from it before because they are a little expensive than I buy it from the stores. The stores are here and there and it's easy to find one. This is why I don't have the necessarity to spend extra to buy from the dispensers.

@allknowing Perhaps. But when I was in Japan, I also bought from the convenient stores or supermarkets rather than these dispensers

I tend to get intimidated by these machine dispensers, especially when the model is far different from what I'm used to. I wanted to try these machines while at the Taipei airport, but the instructions were all in Chinese, and I couldn't make out which bill or coin to use. I've been in that airport for like four times already! Maybe on my 5th visit, I'll muster the courage to operate one of those dispensers. It was a lot easier with the dispensers in the US. I just swipe my debit or credit card and out goes my drink or snack.

Actually most of our dispensers in the streets in our country are all sodas and coffee. But in the comfort rooms you'll find napkins and sanitary pads dispenser. For chocolate you will fin it on a high end streets and supermarkets.

These are on the spot and I guess rely on impulse buying. They are still prevalent here.

I have a dispenser in my building. Our building has one of the gyms in our apartment ( we have three of them). And just outside the gym, you see it. It's full of all energy drinks, juices, protein bars, fresh banana and some more healthy snacks along with chocolates and other stuffs. I have never used it. My husband uses it sometimes after his workout.
