Terrible Time at Texas Roadhouse Today / myLot

As you may remember, Fridays are the days my husband and I have lunch at Texas Roadhouse. We were the third couple in the door but the place was already very loud. You see, there was a group of about 100 6-8 year olds having a "field trip" and the restaurant had opened early for them. Their teachers weren't keeping them quiet, in their seats, or admonishing them to use their "indoor voices." Thankfully they sat us at the completely opposite end of the restaurant. Our regular server for the past 3 years has been Missing In Action for about 5 weeks so we've been getting random servers and today's server was a man named Terry. He was "okay" but very sweaty for some reason. Our chili was cold. Hubby's ribeye steak was cold. My sirloin steak was overcooked. So it wasn't our normal pleasant experience at Texas Roadhouse today. How was your lunch? What did you have?

Wow! seems like a turnoff from the beginning. Ambiance , good service and food are key ingredients for an enjoyable restaurant lunch experience.

Our Texas Roadhouse restaurants are just not that good. They never have enough workers, and the food is not consistent. Outback is ok, but our Longhorn is the best for food quality and service. Most people here seem to think the same, of all the steak chains it’s the best.

@looeyville Nothing more disheartening than the combo of cold food and rowdy kids in a restaurant. No child of mine ever got off their seat or shouted in a restaurant - it IS possible to bring children up correctly. Unfortunately I would never take my unruly, untrained grandchildren to a restaurant they are a nightmare. Yesterday we ended up in a diner for lunch. The food was surprisingly hot and tasty but there was far too much of it.

sounds like a nice tradition

i'm sorry about your experience today, i think it's probably because of all the people (and kids) that were there. i don't think that was "everyday situation". i hope next time your favorite server is back and you get served nice and hot meals

Yuk, I hate having a bad meal eating out. You pay enough for it. It should be decent. I had a lunchable and an apple.
