Some New Socks Are on the Way

The other day I told you my Fruit of the Loom socks just aren't holding up anymore and wanted to try other brands. I still have some new pairs in a pack I bought a while ago (I always "cycle" in new pairs and always have new pairs handy...I'm weird. Sue me). I shopped around on Amazon a bit and found most of the prices pretty much sucked. But I found some Airacker socks which were 6-pair for $15.99 on sale, and thought I would give them a go. Usually when it comes to crew socks, I stick with white. But in this case I decided to go with gray. They will arrive on December 1st and we'll see if they hold up better than the Fruit of the Loom ones. It's almost like they were free considering the other day I redeemed a $25 Amazon gift card from my Bing Rewards. Onward and upward.

When I buy socks, I only buy ones that have copper. I once knew that they were much better but now I forgot. Thet last until forever.

@porwest They have something to do with health. But now I´d have to look on the web.

I hope they work for you, I don't shop on amazon, I buy from Ebay, I tried amazon 1 time & I didn't like it so I stick with Ebay cause they just do a lot better than amazon does.

Amazon, for me, is really the only place I ever shop online. But I do hope these socks have some longevity compared to Fruit of the Loom.

You will have to let us know how they do! When we first got married my husband would only wear Gold Toe brand socks. He said they were the only ones comfortable for him. He has a thing about the seam in the toes. After a few years, I got him switched over to Fruit of the Loom or Hanes--don't remember. He then changed to some diabetic socks that the doctor ordered after his stroke and has been using them until about 2 years ago. It is a pain in the rear to buy socks for this man because they are either too tight up top or the toe is aggravating to him. Last time I was looking for something for him in the men's section at Walmart of all places, I noticed that they carry Gold Toe socks now. They are also cheaper than they used to be. I think I'll pick some up next time he needs socks. You might want to give them a try. They do or did last a long time way back then.

@porwest They were expensive back in the day, or at least I thought so. Of course though they were only available in one store in Baton Rouge back then and from what I remember the multi pack at Walmart was about what you would pay for one pair of socks back in the 80's. With that being said, the quality may not be as good as it used to be, but that is true with just about everything now.

@kareng You are right about that. Quality is not what it used to be no matter what it is. It's all gone downhill.

So far so good. But of course it is way too early to tell, although so far they at least FEEL sturdier. But who knows? I've seen Gold Toe socks but never used them. Might have to check them out. If the price is right, I wouldn't mind trying them. But the price definitely does have to be right.

Hope your new socks are better than the Fruit of the Loom. The price of socks has gotten ridiculous and almost as bad as eggs

I don't like wearing black socks. It makes my feet smell awful.

@2ndchances24 I beg to differ. I have never had issues with white or gray. But always have with black.

I finally found some socks that I like. They were Dr. Scholl's. They are the kind with the really stretchy cuff which I like. Hope your socks work out.

The regular price on these is $20 for 6-pair, so we'll see if they work out. I am not sure $20 would be a price I'd pay, but I can always keep an eye out for sales.

I just hope the fabric on these is not as think as the Fruit of the Loom socks have become. I want them to last longer.

Congratulations to you glad you found these. Hey, maybe you can give me some advice, There are some sites that I do surveys on to get gift cards that demand I have a mobile phone for verification, The problem is that I cannot afford a bit subscription each month, and have no one to call, and all I need on a phone is the calling and text messages. Is it still possible to get just a plain phone for calling and messaging and not pay big for a subscription?

I just want them to last a little longer than the current Fruit of the Loom ones have, and all will be good in my book.
