Spoke with my husband twice yesterday. Said the doctor did not take his Foley out and did not even discuss it. I will need to discuss that during our phone meeting today. Said he didn't have a pair of shoes (they must have been lost at the last facility) and didn't have a jacket. We will have to bring these things to him on Sunday in case he has to go out again. The second time he called was at 11:30 pm. He wanted to make sure that there weren't any people yelling at me. Sigh.
I haven't heard anything about the other appeal. I will have to call them.
Thank you for your continued prayers, support and thoughts.

@LindaOHio Did they explain why he needed it in the first place? I'm hoping that it wasn't done just for their convenience of not having to help him get to the bathroom.

@kareng He wasn't passing enough urine. He has an appointment with a urologist this week.

Good luck with the phone meeting today. I hope you can get your questions answered. When will you hear something about the VA? Is there a way you can visit a VA facility to get a feel for it.

@LindaOHio You might want to look into medicare transportation services to see what they are willing to provide. As far as I know, it is just for medical appointments, but maybe they would transport you and cousin to see the VA..or the VA itself might provide something like that.

Thanks. The VA is supposed to call me. I doubt I will be able to visit. The closest one is quite a distance away.

@snowy22315 I might have to use medical transport to get my husband to see a Primary Care Physician. For some reason they want him to see one before he can get in-home care and PT.

They really should take that out, but if the infection hasn't cleared for whatever reason, that could be why. My husband is still suffering from having one in for over two months. Although it's a bit better than it was.

@LindaOHio I have some physical strength left, and I also tend to be encouraging.

They should change the foley at least on a monthly basis. It is a direct avenue for bacteria that causes UTI's. I am sorry the doctor did not discuss with him.

Glad you could talk to him, I hope he doesn't think that he will put on the jacket and shoes and go home. Brings me to two questions What does he wear on his feet now? Can he go to the bathroom by himself? Probably when the Foley is still in. Blessings to you both,

Thank you. He wears those non-slip hospital socks. He needs help to go to the bathroom.
