I was watching a neuroscientist on TV and he was talking about brain rot, a new ailment that happened because people spent too much time watching things at their cellphones and tablets with no interesting content. Brain did not "work" and after a while it rot.
I got scared. As I live alone, I don´t talk to anyone. The most difficult thing my brain does is to mylot. But here I tell about my daily chores and plans and the only more complicated thing I do is to write in English instead of Spanish.
I should read more. My readings are mostly googling trivia (today I checked on some old Kings of Sweden as I wanted to know whether they were before of after Bernadotte).
Is my brain rotting?

I don't think you have anything to worry about, quite honestly... IF, you start spouting off about aliens landing by Luna's house and probing her, then I'd start worrying.
I learned about brain rot from a Gen Z. He was commenting on some of the things Gen Alpha are talking about online and the memes they're making. To be honest, I don't understand most of the stuff Gen Alpha are talking about online either. *shrug*

I think that mylot is keeping me from brain rot. I´m not reading much and I prefer old movies to new ones. But maybe all 80 year old youngsters are the same.

@DaddyEvil I agree. I am worried more about my youngest granddaughter. I don´t know what she does, but she is playing all the time with her tablet.

@marguicha I'd say myLot is a contributing factor in you not getting brain rot. It's an interesting site.

Your brain isn't rotting. We all do several different things during the day. Have a great day.

You're doing fine, Marga. You read, you visit with friends and family, you get out and about when you can. You have a very good mind. You seem very determined to remain independent and well, and you take care of yourself.
Your brain is not rotting, dear.

What are clearly rotting are my legs and feet, Marie. Doctors give me pain pills but I need new legs.

@MarieCoyle I will. But they are not easy to find. Leticia is looking for a new leg for over 10 years. And now I think that if I found only one, I´d give it to Dixie. The leg that was run over could not be mended well. The doctors did a minor surgery but could not do what was needed because of her heart. She cries with pain at times. And she cannot take all the pain pills I take because her heart can´t stand them either.

I need one completely new leg, too. If you see any on sale, would you please let me know?

@marguicha Those were not weird, they were funny! And that enamored kids and why they loved them.

Sometimes I think that the best writings are the weirdest. Just remember Dr, Seuss children´s books.

I think you do enough to keep brain rot away.

I think you are ok. I think many games people play on their phones are even helpful.

I just can´t write in English the day Anita comes to work here. I start a sentence in English and she asks me something in Spanish.

Do not read too much into it. In case, you are spending 10 hours to 12 hours daily just browsing tv and smartphone and getting a load of things without thinking too much , your brain functionalities decrease. But this is not true if you are using your brain to read, write and watch a bit of things using smartphone or tv. Else, you should see most people around the world having their brains rot. Which is never the case. If things are done in moderation , there is never a trouble. Do things which are creative and which are good for your learning .You are also doing very well. So do not get worried on thi. Take care!
