NighttimeRoutine

Do you have a nighttime routine? I have been suffering from insomnia for as long as I can remember. I hardly get enough sleep, and it's taking a toll on my cognitive ability. These days, I often zone out. Quite forgetful, too. I did not sleep for a couple of days (Monday and Tuesday). I am glad I got 5 hours of sleep last Wednesday, but last night, I did not sleep a wink. I want my circadian rhythm back. Do you have any nighttime routines to share?

i'm sorry about that, i hope you get some sleep soon. have you tried visiting doctor about it, because it seems like a problem to me. it's not a once in a while thing... my nighttime routine is simple - i try to be in bed around 10pm and occasionally around 11. i also drink water before bed, but i've heard that chamomile tea or warm milk can be helpful with sleeping. i hope you're better soon

I haven't gone to the doctor because I am pretty sure I would be given sleeping pills. I've read horrible side effects of sedation.

@Iam_jauntyjen but if you're not sleeping for two days straight, you'll be having side effects of that too.

Set a routine that works for you. Stay away from electronics like your phone and computer for at least an hour before laying down. Reading a book before bed helps a lot of people.

First of all you should never have a late dinner and go to bed. You should eat at least 4 or 5 hours before you are ready to sleep. They say a cup of chamomile tea helps, but l have found that having something with oats does make a big difference.

Hmm I've also read somewhere that oats help. I eat oatmeal for breakfast regularly. I'll try to eat oatmeal tonight to see if it works.
