Last night we took a little drive through Holmes Water Park to see the annual display of Christmas lights. This event is held every year and is quite popular. People come from other areas in Mississippi and also Louisiana to see the lights. Holmes Water Park is located in Tylertown, Ms.
This is a drive through event where they charge $5 per car, $10 per large van, and $20 per bus to drive through.
We arrived at 5:45 pm when it was getting dark because I thought that the opening time was 5 pm, and it wasn't totally dark at 5, so we waited a bit. We were inside the town and by the time we got there it was almost opening time. It is located just outside of the town.
The photo above is the entrance. There are thousands of lights throughout the drive.
We enjoyed the visit, but could have done without the idiot behind us who was obviously trying to break the record for wanting to be the fastest person to drive through the lights. I was disappointed that I didn't get all of the photos that I wanted because of the jerk.

Hey, Mr. Grinch! haha. Well, profits on this go back into the park. This park has a big activity center and also hosts festivals and events in the center throughout the year. You also have to figure the electricity bill.
With that being said, I think $5 a car is reasonable. Now if it was $20, I would pass--especially now since I've been once.

We have those idiots here as well. I was in the bus one day and this guy was driving at break neck speed. When I was getting down I told him if he wants to die he can jump in a well but we want to live (lol)

I guess that could be avoided by going later in the evening. We waited at the gate because the lady told us that she was going to turn all the lights on and it would take about 10 minutes. So we sat there and waited for her to come back. She didn't. But cars behind us at entrance went around us. I kept prompting my husband to pull forward, but he didn't until he saw cars moving. They had the cashiers stand after the entrance. So weird, but I guess to avoid traffic piling up on the highway.

Friend and I went on a similar excursion tonight. So much work! Amazing light displays. Dinosaurs and igloos and sasquatch and the illusions: a ball being tossed into a hoop, a bell in a schoolhouse binging- all light illusions. Dazzling.

I would have pulled over and let the person go by. Have a good day.
