I have for years wanted to serve a meal to the poor or homeless on Christmas, but have never found somewhere they needed volunteers.I have even called churches and salvation army etc. I had something pop up in my newsfeed that they were recruiting for volunteers for this somewhere in the area. I started reading the article, and got distracted by the phone or something..and since this was on the phone, when I went to look for it again, it was gone. I know there are other ways I could help..but I want to do that. I have even called around places, and they seem to have all the help they need. I hope the article will pop up again but my guess is it won't. Maybe I will google it that or something similar will pop up.

I found a few places that used volunteers for Thanksgiving, but none other than the one I saw for Christmas.

@snowy22315 - It is possible, I suppose that some people who live alone are happy to volunteer so they spend the day with other people.

I bet your local NextDoor folks have an organization crying for attention. An angel lady in my corner set up a large neighbor give to neighbor Christmas gifts gig. One receipent basically boohooed that her kids weren't getting good enough stuff- the price range went up to 300.00 so what is your beef???? Anyway, it had the angel lady upset and crying cause that receipent was such an ungrateful stinker. Others have chimed in and told Angel to just never mind the Stink. This world can be so harsh.

Sometimes it is, there was something on Nextdoor, but I have my heart on serving a meal somewhere. It has yet to happen, and it isn't like I haven't tried.

@sallypup I did call SA last year I don't think Lighthouse mission operates in these parts.

Thanks, I did see a place that was accepting donations..as does one of the local churches here. If nothing else materializes, I can do that

You could check the browser hostory and revisit the page. Perhaps the advt could be there , perhaps tuned to the content of the page you visited. If Lord wants you to volunteer this year , then there is no stopping , it is bound to happen. If Lord is keeping you waiting means you are going to get a good opportunity /dream opportunity to volunteer at somewhere special. Perhaps it will come to you or you can pray to Lord for the opportunity to come to you. So , never stop such wonderful opportunities. Lord bless your soul . Take care!

That is a good thought Christmas is for giving You must do it on your own. I do it every year giving kids and sometimes seniors from an old age a full day entertainment I just had it on Dec 15 - a memory created.

We have people who volunteer to serve meals/ or holiday meals, for several soup kitchens and homeless shelters. There are several churches with outreach meals that welcome volunteers. Some serve, some clean up, some even deliver the meals to shut-ins. Maybe try one of those type of places? Just some ideas for you.
