Senior moment #7,243?

Have you ever had what might be described as a "senior moment"? Just now I went into the bathroom to retrieve my prescription (lower back) pain meds. I wanted to call and see if my new bottle is ready for pickup, and needed the phone number from the bottle.
In my mind I (subconsciously) coded "one thing to do." While in there, I noticed that my non-prescription pain med (Naproxin Sodium) was in the wrong place on my shelf. I moved it to its proper place.
Having done "one thing" I returned to my desk, ready to call the pharmacy. I returned to my bathroom, retrieved the bottle, called and checked (it's ready) and then returned the bottle to its proper place. Then I started this post.
Have you ever had a "senior moment"?
As an act of defiance (or perhaps redemption), I went into my kitchen for a sip of Gatorade, and got distracted by my leftover sandwich from Subway. I took a bite of the sandwich (one thing), took a sip of Gatorade, and returned to my desk, feeling "cured."
I guess my follow-up question would be: When you have do get a couple of things done, do you "code" the number of things you have to do in your mind?
Oh dear. I have to pee again! (just kidding)

I think I need to create a “senior moment tracker” app. I’ll be a billionaire.

I need to renew my prescriptions too. Was thinking about going out to the pharmacy but it's wet snowing and I don't want to get wet (I might melt). Don't even suggest an umbrella because I tried that when it was somewhat warmer and it wasn't practical when pushing a recalcitrant walker that insists I have both hands on the handles or it goes wherever it wants, usually into oncoming traffic.

I don't think I really do as far as that's concerned. But, think George has had a lot of them.

@TheHorse I have forgetful moments for sure. Just like we all do, but nothing alarming.

@TheHorse i'm sure you can do it! write them down and draw checkboxes next to the taks, so you can check them when you're done. i used to do that when i had more responsibilites

No, I do not "code" the number because it is never just one thing. Yes, I have senior moments all of the time. I will not even share the more serious ones with you guys here. I suspect I am more senior than you, but I will say "take care of your back."

Yes, all the time. It happens mainly when I leave the den. Could be to go check on what's cooking in the kitchen, or to fix our plates and bring back to den, or bathroom, swap laundry around, etc. and the hubby says, "hey, can you bring me a bottle of water back or bring me a snack, etc."

Being 73 I have several senior moments. Like walking into a room and not remembering why. Things like that.

I train my mind to remember if sometimes I forget something. I have two orange dishes I use for my meals. So usually one is clean and ready for use. When I see only one I think now where is the other and then I remember where I put it or what is on it, I do this with a lot of things. It is good to have the right thoughts pop into my head, The only thing I don't have to worry about is feeding the cats, If the bowls are empty I get a loud chorus of meow,

Speaking of senior moments, when I finished reading your discussion I forgot what it was you were writing about. LOL
I do have senior moments, but at work I have to be great at multi-tasking in order to keep everything flowing smoothly and efficiently, so it's really trained my brain to be in that mode at all times. So, when I'm at home, I have no problem doing more than one thing at once without getting forgetful.
And yes, I do "code" the number of things I need accomplish.

I list two or three things to do then set out to do them. I do this before I go to sleep too. Tomorrow I have to .... And mostly it works. When I wake up I know exactly what I need to do that day.

I can forget what I was going to look up on the internet or add to my grocery cart in a nanosecond. One instant I remember...the next instant I forget. That's why I make so many lists. Have a good weekend.
