Airport.

The airport has policemen patrolling today, not anti-terror police, but run of the mill officers looking friendly and ready to deal with lost children and other distressing personal issues.
But why are they never here when I need to report drunken rapscallions wearing tee shirts emblazoned with slogans that would make a salty old sea dog blush?
They only are present, it seems, when the airport is all but empty like today. Maybe they don’t like crowds.

Well, at least they are present, Otherwise a child might board the wrong plane like in the Home Alone 2 movie,

It could be that the police officers do not like to be around crowds due to the danger of being attacked by mobs of people.
