Back in a House

Today, we looked at a few properties in a small town community about an hour away. My son is thinking about one of them a bit more than the others and wants me to live with him once he develops the land and puts a nice new manufactured home on. In the meantime, he talked me into moving in a week ago and get out of the trailer. I have my own room and it's nice to be comfortable again. I loved hosting in camp grounds but it was the different other things that goes with living in a RV. They are not made to be lived in and last. I told my son it's there to camp with now. He can take it on his fishing trips or where he wants to. I haven't been on a lot but hope to catch up with you all. We are celebrating Christmas tomorrow since my granddaughters are heading to CA on Tuesday with their mom. Christmas day, not sure what my son and I will do.

@kareng It's cold here too. We woke to ice all over. I live at the ocean. Some don't think it will freeze here.

@MarieCoyle That is so nice. We aren't sure about this year. Might get a cabin somewhere.

@noni1959 We had a fairly quiet Christmas this year. Hopefully, next year we can make it better and more of us can be together. But it was good.

That's good news that you're back in a house. We are looking forward to using our new-to-us motor-home but we won't have to live in it for long stretches at a time.

When do you think you'll be using your motor home? Sometimes, I wish I did that vs a trailer.

@noni1959 With a bit of luck we might get away in it within the next week or two. I'll be writing about it when we do.

I’m sorry your journey of campground living has come to an end. It seemed exciting. So nice of your son to want you to move in with him.

@noni1959 that sounds understandable. Maybe now and then in summer months

The camp hosting and regular camping was OK but the expense of RV parks, trying to find safe places and the damp coming in became too much. I'll still camp. Just not live in it.

It has been an adventure living in the RV - and now you have the comforts of a house! Merry Christmas to you and your family . . . the New Year with a new place to live will be quite exciting.

I was living in my 23 ft travel trailer from the end of March 2023 until this past Dec. 2024. Almost 22 months so I just say 22. I moved around camp hosting, traveling between Oregon and Washington and one time staying put at a RV park through winter where it hit -4 with snow.
