Visited with my husband. Expected him to be dressed and in a wheelchair for Christmas; but he was sleeping when we got there. He was very lucid and only made one comment that was delusional. He was not happy that I only spent 2 hours; but we had to get back so that his 2nd cousin could prepare dinner. He wanted a pizza; so we can bring him one next time. He made a comment that he wanted to get out of there; but I told him he's not strong enough. I will have to call again to see if the social worker has a cost for physical therapy.
His cousin prepared a nice turkey breast meal with mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy and cranberry sauce. She also had a few small presents for me which made the day even more pleasant for me. It would have been lonely and sad if she had not taken me to see my husband, prepared a nice meal and given me presents. She made the day much more bearable. We will be going to see him again on Sunday.
Thank you for your continued prayers, support and thoughts.

He's going to get spoild seeing you as many times And, you should be asking about getting him to see his primary and setting at home health and nursing aide. Medicare will pay for a transional period where he can get at home therapy, too. He's not going to get stronger just doing what they have there for him. If that was true, he would've inproved a lot more. You need to let go of the idea a hospital environment isn't going to get him much better then where he is now because it won't. He's a lot more resstricted. He needs to be where he's forced to move around and do things.

@LindaOHio I couldn't help but to think that when I originally read this post that he needed you, maybe he was going to confide something in you, and now it makes me sure of it. Will you be able to call and visit him by phone today? He would surely enjoy that.

The visit was very pleasant. My hubby just wanted me to stay longer; and I couldn't. I felt bad about that.

@Juliaacv Yes, I made sure his phone was charged and on. I will try and call him today. Sometimes he doesn't answer because he's sleeping; but I will try.

I am glad your husband's cousin is so thoughtful and that there only seemed to be one delusional moment.

His medicare and VA might provide physical therapy. I know we were able to get it for my daddy.
