I Was Going To Be Here Sooner But

Each day I say to myself, I am going to come on here and read your posts and perhaps even write one myself. But then the day ends, and the next one begins. And here we are on a Saturday evening, and I am finally here. Though I may not get here every day I do think of you and say a prayer that your day is good.
Yesterday I took my friend to her eye doctor appointment. She has had shots in them due to macular degeneration. She had several tests done and the doctor was so impressed with her improvement that he scheduled her next appointment for 6 months. That is the longest time in between her appointments since this began 4 years ago. I didn't mind going with her yesterday, or any of the other times, but we were both pretty upset at yesterday's appointment. It was at 10:30AM. As I said she had 3 tests done which took all of about 5 minutes. We didn't see the doctor until 1230 and then he was in the room for all of 2 minutes. I get that the waiting room was full the entire time we were there. I get that she had 2 different types of pictures of her eyes taking, took maybe 5 minutes for both, and then the nurse looked into her eyes, perhaps a minute or two. He said they overbooked the day. I think he needs to set limits to how many patients he will see in a day. And the place needs to hire more doctors. It is the size of the hospital that closed in our county. No one should have to wait to see the doctor 2 hours after going through less than 10 minutes of procedures. Maybe the waiting was a test for me to learn to be more patient. I understand that when it comes to doctor appointments, waiting is the biggest majority of the visit, but it should not be a 2 hour wait for less than 10 minutes of actual tests/seeing the doctor. Just my humble opinion.
Have you had a long waiting period for something that took only a few moments of actually doing whatever you were waiting for?
picture from google. Peaceful scene. I need to think of peaceful places when waiting.

That is a beautiful pic They probably are short staffed. So many places are particularly in rural areas

I hate overbooking, and it seems like it’s a common practice anymore. The dermatologist I used to see booked appointments ten minutes apart, and he NEVER was in and out in ten minutes. If I didn’t get the first appointment at 7:50 AM I was going to be sitting there for a while. Great doctor, but not worth that.
Love that photo.

We had an appoitment with my husband's primary doctor just a couple days ago. The VA requires us to arrive 30 minutes early for a nurse screening. Due to a misunderstanding, George and I got there about an hour early, but I try to give us a cushion because since his stroke, he's kind of slow. We didn't have near as far as a walk, but we wound up waiting just over an hour to get called back.

I used to go to a government hospital where I had to wait for 3 to 4 hours to get checked. I would leave as early as 4:45 a.m. It's first come, first served. If you are lucky, you're done by 11 a.m otherwise the latest would be by 2 pm.

2 hours is too long. I probably wouldn't have stayed. Have a good day.
