Tea is undoubtedly one of the most popular beverages consumed worldwide, but how many tea drinkers are aware that tea bags can release not so healthy particles into their cup of tea. Yes indeed, studies show that one teabag can release 11billion microplastics and 3 billion monoplastic particles into a cup of tea. Tea bags are convenient but l will go with tea leaves from now on. Read all about it in the link below. Pixabay image.

I haven't had tea in years but I thought the bags were made from paper. I might be mistaken, though.

@shaggin One of the many articles l read on the topic did mention the kind of bags. I will see if l can find it. The material won't necessarily look like plastic.

@jobelbojel You could still use them l guess, but don't let it steep too long in the cup.

You're welcome. Other plastic packaged items are suspect as well.

The tea-bags I have seem to be made of some type of material rather than plastic. Mostly we drink coffee.

It is a mixture of fibres including plastic. We couldn't place plastic in hot water.

They find out things after decades of use. No wonder people come down with so many ailments and wonder what is the cause.
