After yesterday’s sunny, but cold weather, today was foggy, grey and cold. An excellent day for another brisk walk.
Turned out, along the canal it wasn’t that foggy. Maybe a bit of mist, but the cold bit was right!
On this walk I pass an old gate lacking a fence. Way back in the 30s, there used to be a factory here, according to old maps. Now there is some light industrial and housing here, so no need for a fence any more, I guess.
Don’t know why, but I am fascinated by the gate and surprised it survived wartime when metal was being gathered up for the war effort. Nice to see it remains, part of the landscape, probably unnoticed by most people.

Those kinds of things are fascinating, There was a large gate along a forest trail in Latvia that always fascinated me, It turns out that it once belonged to an old estate that had been there ages ago,

On a warmer, but not hot, day I'd be interested in walking along the canal with you. That looks lovely. (I'd want it to be about 60F/15.5C)
