It Gets Earlier and Earlier

Not sure what is wrong with me. I haven't changed the time I get up since I retired. I am always up around 5am or 530am, and I never really ate anything until around noon. Sometimes around 11ish. I have never been a breakfast person—I mean, I will eat breakfast foods of course and love them. But never at breakfast time. But lately I have been noticing I am starting to get hungry much earlier around 830am or so. I am hungry now and I am going to go get some leftover pork and kraut. Perhaps I am slowly becoming a breakfast person? One can never tell. I guess it would not be a bad thing.

You are up about the same time as me. However, l am a breakfast person and l have it anywhere between 7 and 8 a.m. My last meal for the day is usually between 4 and 5 p.m, so l am really hungry in the morning.

We are late dinner eaters, at least by some people's standards. We eat dinner typically around 730pm.

I didn't really eat breakfast until I started needing BP meds in my early 40s. Then I HAD to eat something when I took those or I'd throw up... I take my morning meds at around 6 am and evening meds around 6 pm and eat something when I take them. Other than those two times, I usually make something for supper between 10 pm and 2 am. (Pretty and I are both night owls and are awake from around 6 pm until 8 am. I sleep during the daytime but have to get up for pee breaks every 4 hours, roughly and am awake for several hours.)

@porwest Oh, yeah. I know several people that have to eat when they take their BP meds or get sick. It's honestly a pain in the tush!

I can definitely see where a situation like this could be a catalyst for making a change. I am supposed to eat something before I take my BP medication, but they don't bother me if I don't. So, I don't. I am lucky that way, I guess. But certainly if they made me sick, I'd have no choice but develop a new habit.

@DaddyEvil I got tired of having a "morning snack" and took the risk one day just to see what would happen. I didn't get sick, so I knew then I could take mine without any food.

I will never be a morning person. We usually get up later here--anywhere from 8:30 to 10ish. I don't like eating when I first get up either, so we have brunch at around 11 to noon. That depends on when the hubby gets up. He's worse than I am about getting up and going. So then lunch is mid to late afternoon with a late 8-9 pm dinner. Odd, but it works for us.

I am the same with you. I'm never a breakfast person. I eat brunch but there are times when I get hungry early. I think it's not a bad thing

I don't think there is any harm in skipping breakfast. So long as I get nourishment, I don't think it necessarily matters WHEN I get it.

Mostly I'm a non-breakfast person but sometimes it's nice to indulge. It depends a bit what's on offer. If we have guests, Vince usually cooks bacon and eggs so then it's hard to resist joining in.

@porwest That's sure. It's brunch for us quite often if we have overnight visitors.

Even with guests, it often becomes more of a brunch than a breakfast, served around 10am or so. Of course, when you have guests, sometimes you tend to sleep a bit later since you also stay up later visiting.
