I’m a happy bunny!

I’m a happy bunny today – I stopped off at the supermarket to pick up some extra fruit and vegetables and they had Seville marmalade oranges in stock! I have been keeping an eye out for them but the season is so short it’s a bit of a ‘blink and you’ll miss them’ situation – and I really didn’t want to miss them because I’ve almost finished the last of the jars of marmalade I made two years ago (in the picture) so if I missed my chance I would be stuck eating shop-bought marmalade until January next year – and that’s not the same at all! So now I have my work cut out for the next ‘free’ evening I guess – but it’ll be worth it!

I’m glad that you found the oranges. Homemade always tastes better.

I may go for rasperry and apricot jam I found both on Amazon.in but the delivery is almost half the cost of the products.

Isn't there anywhere locally you can buy preserves rather than resorting to Amazon?

Yum. My brother-in-law bought some home-made marmalade off a stall a few weeks back and paid $15 for it which seemed a bit steep. He was past the point of no return though so more or less had to take it.

That does seem a lot, unless it was a very big jar! I could probably send you a jar of my home-made marmalade for that price!

@Fleura It wasn't a big jar at all! A bit disappointing really with huge chunks of peel.

What is the shelf life of homemade marmalade?

No idea, I've never kept any long enough. Several years, if unopened.

I hope you enjoy the new batch of marmalade. Homemade anything always tastes better than store bought.

It looks like a family of marmalade jars. Not often I eat marmalade and I like with hardly any peel
