Train Restaurant

Yesterday was my birthday. My hubby asked where I wanted to spend my birthday, so I thought eating pasta at the newly opened train restaurant with a scenic view of the Gugyeonggang River that crosses the Mangyeonggang River would be one for the books. It is a remodeled abandoned train. On top of that, it is also registered as a modern cultural heritage cultural asset of Korea, so I was excited to make memories more than the pasta there. Unfortunately, my husband did not like the ambiance. When hopped in, the restaurant was jam-packed on the right side where the picturesque view could be seen. However, the tables on the left were left empty intentionally. The waiters did not even greet us. Not even a cold smile. One of the waiters told us to go outside because there were no tables available. The weather was 4 degrees Celsius so you could imagine how cold it was plus the wind. So went instead to the art store adjacent to the resto. We were told that they would call once there was a table for us. To cut the story short, we waited for half an hour so my husband got pissed because he saw empty seats but he did not receive a call on his phone. We agreed to go to another place instead. We ate at a buffet resto and my daughter was so happy.

Maybe the seats had been reserved but I would be upset too it doesn’t sound like they were very welcoming at all. Sad as it sounded like a fun place. I love buffets. I’m glad you were able to go there at least anf enjoy a meal.

That's the exact word! Unwelcoming. But the place was soothing. I would love to go back to the place to enjoy nature but not to eat at the restaurant.

A really irritating moment on a birthday before getting a good meal. Glad you got a good meal after all.

@Iam_jauntyjen there maybe lapses with their system yet. I think they are not able to foresee this welcome

But their website does not say that customers need to reserve first. Thanks for the greetings!

Sorry you were disappointed in your preferred place to eat. I think maybe because the place is new, everyone is flocking to see what it is all about. If they keep up the bad customer service, it will be a place of history very soon.
