Cold Snap

As I sit here this morning sipping my morning coffee, looking at the weather site which is reporting -24C currently, I wonder how long it will last. It does show that the cold snap should break tomorrow. It will still be cold, but they are forecasting a dusting of snow. I have to work in the office tomorrow, I hope that it doesn't get too messy, I dislike driving downtown as it is. Our office building sits vacant for the most part, only occupied enough days in a month to satisfy the requirements for the insurance policy. I will dress in layers. Hopefully the worst of the cold snap will end, although the true cold snap, winter itself, will linger for a couple of more months. ~Photo is mine

I would like to ask, do people living in countries with that thick of snow ever get sick ? I mean physical like colds and cough because of sudden weather change?

They get coughs and colds like everyone else. The weather doesn't necessarily change suddenly though.

I've been inside all day long, but I have to go out and get some deli meat sliced for my lunch tomorrow. I am dreading that.

Drive carefully and keep warm. I always hated driving in nasty weather, no matter what kind of nasty weather.

Thank you. That picture is one that I took years ago looking out our backdoor towards the little shed that we kept the riding lawnmower in.

Ugh, I didn't realize it ever got that cold there. That is brutal. As long as you don't have any wind blowing though, I guess it is manageable. Poor you having to go out tomorrow in that. That will be zero fun.

Yes, it does get that cold. Today, while it warmed up to about -12C it got really windy and the light snow was blowing around. It looked awful out. I have to go out to get some fresh deli meat sliced for my lunch tomorrow, but I am sitting here and putting it off. I will have to log off and bundle up and just go. It will take me a while to warm back up again.

It is so cold. My hubs was texting with his sisters yesterday in Florida, and they said it is miserably cold on the Gulf coast.

I feel bad that you have to venture out and go to the office in that frigid cold. Working from home certainly has it's perks especially during the winter during cold and snowy days. Bring on spring!!!

I am not looking forward to going out so early tomorrow to get to work on time. I am just thankful that I have heated leather seats in the car, that will help a bit.

When I stayed in the US, I never drove in snow. I used to stay indoors or ask husband to drive if it was absolutely necessary. I was scared driving in snow. Stay warm. That's really cold.

Well, if the cold is going to snap tomorrow that is a lucky break and hopefully the temperatures will get better. True the winter there could prolong but at least if temperature are better than -24C , then it is much better. Hope there are things at home to keep all of you warm. It is 19C where I live and at times 22C. It is cool but not cold, although I would love to be in this temperature for long before summer arrives. Our last summer was long and horrible thanks to heatwave and climate change. Drive carefully and well be warm. Well, I can understand how difficult it is to drive while there is snow. Take care!

Travel safely. It's nice to be retired and mostly not have to go anywhere if I don't want to.
