Do you agree or disagree that love no longer exists?

I always hear people saying love no longer exists but I am not in the position to argue with them. I also do not know how deep is their pain caused by love. Betrayal, brutality, or human abuse drive one to conclude that love no longer exists. We also always hear and read news about killing of a girlfriend or a wife. For me it's a case to case circumstance. I still believe that love exists. There are so many marriages that ended only during their last breath. Many couples reached old age and they endured struggles amidst odds of life like hitting rock bottom. They remained hopeful and prayerful thus surpassing the real testament of marriage called love.

At first I thought you were doing an Elvis thing, (you know, hunka hunka burning love...) Then I heard the Johnny Cash thing.

Love has gone through many changes through the centuries. It is a chemical reaction in the brain after all. I think cultures and society have changed the outer workings of love a lot. And as we age we see it differently too I think. Interesting question though.

@celticeagle that's also my observation. There's free love in this digital age. Some young people lost their value and dignity.

@celticeagle, I agree with you especially in this digital age some people take love for granted. As the world is getting older, people change.

I had a friend like that years ago. She said that there is no such thing as love, only lust. Or there is some other reason like money, etc. She would not tell me why she thought that way but she must have been betrayed in some horrible way. She has long since passed on and I hope she finds love in eternity. .

Love can be a cliche or it can be a place of trust, loyalty, cherishing and hard work. I chose to go the long route with my hubby. Hardships, laughter, you name it, we've stuck to each other.

@sallypup, wow, so envious love it endures tests of time. I like to see a couple grow old together. Love remains strong amidst hardship.

I think it’s more of a young persons thing. Mainly because they have not lived long enough to know the ups and downs. For me, love still exists in small quantities. As you age it becomes more about companionship.

@inertia4, I am truly impressed of your thoughts about love whether it still exists or not. Many of my friends also said that way.

@Ronrybs, you might be right considering the war that is ongoing they do not have love but hatred and always desire to kill. There's no love for humanity.

@dya80dya, I agree with you on that. True love is rarely found this time. Many are engaged in a fake love just to satisfy something.
