My Blood Count is Excellent

I supposed to have my first ever blood sugar test I think for such a long time but unfortunately my nurse was sick and had to file a sick leave yesterday. I went to our school clinic after having followed his instruction on a 10-hour of fasting for the blood sugar test the next day. I was stoked the clinic was close. I called him to know if he was coming late but he struck me with news he wasn't coming because he was sick. With a bed voice he said that he was really exhausted that was why he couldn't come. He was sorry and told me to do the fasting again for the blood sugar test the next day which is today. Finally, I had the blood sugar test and it showed an excellent blood count of 95. I was relieved. He told me to take breakfast and time it. He told me to come back to the clinic after two hours. So at this writing, it is just 35 minutes after my breakfast.

I've had to fast two days in a row because a doctor made a mistake in when someone could run a blood test. Isn't THAT fun? Good luck with the test after you've eaten. I'm sure you'll be fine.

It's strange for me that the doctor made a mistake. But as we say in India, it happens. One of our relatives' daughter almost lost her life as her blood group was wrongly indicated in the blood report

That's fine. I am diabetic and my fasting blood sugar comes approximately 110 after taking medicines at night.

@Neil43 Yes it's fine but in a long term it's not good to take medicines.

Oh! Really? So that 110 is still okay. How does it feel?

I hope everything comes back okay! Fasting for two days (nights) in a row is for the pits! I don't envy you there.

@Neil43 Yes but still it is a pity for all that effort. How is the blood test result?

Yes unfortunately but at times you just accept that this can happen at can be out of anyone's control. Some people can tend to be negligent but we can't do anything about it. But the next day anyways, I was able to do the blood sugar test.

Sorry that you had to fast for two days. Few things like that keep happening. Anyways, it is a big relief that your sugar level is perfect. I am hopeful that even after food, it will be in good range

@Neil43 Yes, that's on lower side. Will you see the doctor and ask about it?

After food it dropped to 86 and the nurse said it was lower the range after food.

It is indeed very important because it can bring so many complications when it is compromised.

Usually 8 hours of fasting is enough to take blood, if it was not over 200 then it was normal.

My nurse suggested the 10 hours though. I think it is the standard number of hours of fasting. I am not sure though. Lower and higher than the normal range will indicate problem.

I am happy for your good result. Congratulations. I did not need to fast for my blood work last time. But its okay coz mine don't require one. But I think mine is not a good one, but I'll be hearing what my doctor will say once I handed her the blood test result I got this morning.

That's good. After taking the test after fasting there is another test after 2 hours, isn't it? Well, I'm diabetic and I have 108 during my last lab test.

Yes. There was and unfortunately the reading dropped to 86 and that shows there is something wrong. So I will be up for more tests in the hospital for accurate results. I did not understand exactly what the nurse was trying to explain. He said I might still have a problem. He was not sure. So, he suggested that I should go to hospital further two blood tests.

I'm planning to take a blood sugar test too. My problem is that the blood sample collector can come sometime around 8, when I'm busy helping children to go to school. I have to wait for a holiday.

Not so good after the next test though because it dropped to 86. The nurse said it was not within the range. So, i might a pre-diabetes condition. So he suggested that I should further tests in the hospital.

Not a good news though because after two hours my blood sugar count dropped. I have the feeling may really have deficiency in vitamin B-complex. So, I have been eating eggs since then. And my allergy is slowly disappearing.

I hate having to fast for a apoint, my system goes haywire I don't know why but it does for some reason & takes it a few days to get back on track again, My sugar levels are all over the place rather I eat or not, good work on yours.

Fasting is hard. I agree. I am used to controlling my diet or my intake. So, fasting is like not that different though.
