Wrong Emoji

I did it again! Recently l wrote about sending a message to the wrong person, this time it's an emoji - l added the wrong emoji to a response!. I was responding to a good news post and said how happy l was at the great news. I then added the happy face emoji and l have no idea how the thumb down emoji turned up alongside the happy face! Thankfully l was able to delete the response quickly and repost it correctly. Am l getting slow or losing concentration?

It's so easy to press the wrong emoji here on myLot. People understand accidents.

As I mentioned, it happened to me too. I think you are not getting slow; you are just too quick. Now, I usually read the message again before I send it out.

Good thing you caught it, but hopefully the person would have realized you just made a mistake.

Deep down I know the person after the initial shock would have realized that l am not the kind of person to respond like that. Perhaps someone who wanted to be funny in a cruel way.

Yes it is - or perhaps my computer had a gremlin attack.

I was kind of praying my internet didn't decide to move slow at that time....

It happens, that's how we say it here. We get distracted and sometimes (in my case) our fingers want to take liberty.

There are times when my internet moves very slow , and l am grateful that on this occasion it was fast and l was able to delete it quickly. I would have been at my wits end watching that delete button spinning slowly for at least 5 minutes or more before it went through....

I've done that . . . I guess my finger tip hit the wrong emoji, or I just couldn't see it only to assume it was what I thought I hit. I know I've done that on myLot, but of course we can quickly edit it. I can only speak for myself . . . these things just happen .

Those emojis in the mylot code are close together and when l checked l noticed that the thumbs down emoji was directly above the point where the comment is sent.

It happens. These days it is the typos I see in my posts. Before I presss the submit button I check and even then when I get back when I see comments there are typos. I have given up

I suspect you aren't getting slow or losing concentration but are allowing one finger to accidentally touch your screen. I used to do that when I used my phone to comment online. I didn't hold my fingers tightly enough as I typed and a knuckle would touch an emoji I didn't want to use. Now that I only use my laptop to talk online, that doesn't happen anymore.

@Kandae11 I can't myLot anymore on my phone. For one thing, I use AdBlock browser and don't like taking my phone anywhere I can't keep AdBlock running. For another thing, I can't use emojis from my phone because myLot makes them into question marks and I can't see the emojis myLot uses here. *shrug*

You are perfectly right. I was using my phone when it happened because on days when l have a lot of offline work l do not have the time to set up my laptop. And of course, everything on a phone is closer together.

I was so glad my internet wasn't moving slowly at the time - otherwise it would have been at least 5 minutes before it was deleted.

This can happen so easily. I don't do it often but I'm always worried that I'll get the emoji wrong.

Do not think too much into it. Overthinking can also spoil the life you are having. It is not about getting slow. We at times get acquainted to things that we do not focus too much into things. It is natural and at times result in such things. The best thing to do would be read and then send things , even if you are goign to slow. Not all likes to be slow. I too have such situations and wonder at times , how such lapse of mind on things I am used to do result in such situations. Lucckily do not think there was much damge in your response as you were able to delete and respost the same. You have a great day ahead!

It happens with me several times while chatting with a person. Not emoji; sometimes I mistyped, like while chatting with a friend. I had to write "yesterday," and I wrote tomorrow instead.
