Been at the hospital for hours now.

As some of you are aware, my son is attempting to heal and try to live a normal life since the accident. This has been a long process and has drastically altered his life and mine as well.
Sine this happened his balance is way off and he has some nerve damage that makes his legs not always do what he wants them to do, among other things. The last few days he has been dizzy so he has had two blood transfusions and two iron infusions. Now they are doing scans and tests and an MRI.
We have so many sick people right now. Both hospitals are full and the ER in both is insane. We waited over two hours. And it was packed, but at least they put him in an exam room to wait. Somehow, I don’t think he is going home tonight but I’ve been wrong before.
Here’s our life today, hurry up and wait! I need some really good dark roast coffee and some lunch or dinner or something…I should be used to this by now, right??
Don’t misunderstand, I am not complaining about my son or the quality of the care here. I am just worried and tired. But he’s alive and I have hopes of his recovery, we don’t ever give up over here!!
Thanks for reading my frustrations and worry about my son. I am just beyond tired.

Answers are what everyone wants as well as a good fix, unfortunately we don’t always get those two results. Thank you, Eva.

He has some pretty bad health problems at this point. We are so glad he is still with us, but we would like his quality of life and health to be a lot better. Thank you, Karen.

I hope everythiñg will be alright!
. I watched the program with Isabella Strahan Michael's daughter. That poor kid! She's back to her life now though and doing well. So there is always hope no matter what the circumstances. You and your son take care please!

I hope your son recovers and feels better soon. I know it's hard to step away, but I hope you have a chance to get something in your system - keep that energy up as much as possible during the wait. I know you won't give up - that's not in Mom's vocabulary. Keeping you and your son in my thoughts

@MarieCoyle How is your son doing? I think I saw a post on your plans but haven't gotten to it yet (as you can see, I am always behind here). A wonderful break is definitely in order!

I am always behind here, as well. Life happens on a daily basis, and I have to try hard to manage my time. He isn't so good today. I hate to do the ER thing again on a weekend day, it's so, so crazy in there. We have two hospitals close together, we usually go to the bigger one, we tried the other one several times...they are good, but don't seem to be as thorough or as savvy as the other bigger hospital Thank you, my friend.

I got into emergency and got attended to immediately. Fortunately nothing serious was noticed I was told to rest for 3 days and was given a few tablets.
That is the plus point of living in a semi rural townj.
That is sreal trauma having wait for hours.

Does your son take Meclizine for dizziness? That's what the doctor prescribed for me. If I'm already dizzy, then it helps. But if I'm not dizzy, then taking a Meclizine will make me dizzy. (I was told to take in with my morning meds... I learned only to take it if I start moving around and am dizzy already.)
I hope you're both out of there this evening. I know being in the hospital is a pain in the tush.

We were done and did an “Elvis has left the building”at 8:55 pm. With all the tests and labs and transfusion it was 11hours. I was SO tired of being there and so was my son.
And yes, a pain in the tush!! Thanks, DE.

I couldn't believe how packed full of sick people that ER was. Lining the halls, etc. people on stretchers, in wheelchairs, people everywhere. I had on two masks! I don't want to be sick, and make my son sick.

I really hate hospitals. I had to go for my doctor's appointment and couldn't wait to leave.

Sending you lots of positive thoughts for an answer to your sons health issues and that you won't have to spend much more time there. It has to be extremely tiring and frustrating.

I know if I go back, I will be more than prepared to be there for a long time. I had a change of clothes in the car, etc. but I had no idea when they said we had a high rate of respiratory infections and all types of flu, that it was quite as bad as it is now.
