If you could replace one thing in your house, apartment etc. What would it be?

Of course, I have already mentioned the deck, but that is outside the house. In here, I wish I could replace the refrigerator. All my other large appliances other than the range are fairly new. I am tired of the fridge and its odd configurement. I don't care about having a tap on the front anymore. I would just like something with more space. However, the dedicated space here for the fridge wouldn't really handle one much larger. I have a big kitchen, why did they make the space for the fridge so small? That is neither here or there though..I just would like a different fridge. This has seen better days, oh and of course my furniture needs updating, but I am working on that. The fridge as long as it is working is on the back burner.

I’d get a better stair system. My neighbor across the street has a ramp; and, while it’s not ADA compliant, it’s much easier to navigate than steps.

Hmm, you mean within the house or outside?..they have those stair lifter gadgets at different price points.

@snowy22315 — outside. The stairs up to the attic aren’t “legal” these days (they were installed long before I bought the house, and I’ve had it for 36 years). I guess that doesn’t properly answer your question, because you did say “IN” the house.

If it looks good and is comfy, why would you want to replace it?

@snowy22315 We don't have a good and comfy sofa in our house and we only have a Filipino style wooden sofa. We have to seat in one place comfortably.

I would like to have bigger closets in this house. The apartment we lived in before we moved here had WAY bigger closets - and there were extra closets.

@much2say They come in handy, but one thing I really don't like is it is too easy to throw something in there and forget it..

Oh, the closet space here is more than adequate. I could no joke turn the walk in closet in my bedroom into a den, although it might be kind of claustrophobic with no windows .The townhouse I lived in before had those crappy closets on a track that were always getting off track. I would never want to go back to those!

@snowy22315 Wow, I would love to have your closet rooms! Oh gosh, I remember track closets . . . yah, sometimes they did annoyingly get off the track.

I would dearly love to buy a new cook stove. Trouble is, this one is new, but I hate it. The burners won't stay at high heat. They get really hot, then cool down, then heat up which is horrible for frying, especially corn bread. I just don't understand why it's designed like this. I thought about returning it, but installing another one is a difficult job for my husband.

Get a haul away and install. That is what I always do. At least one of my burners doesn't work very well.

I would like a new faucet in the sink. Mine is old fashioned and comes with no sprayer. I could use a sprayer.

@dgobucks226 Yes, it is quite expensive, that is why I won't do it now.

That's just what I did. I just replaced all the cabinets, sink, and faucet. I will re-paint the walls myself. Redoing a kitchen is really expensive!

I would love to update a lot of my house, we bought it over a year ago and it needs a lot of work. We have done quite a bit of it. Our conservatory needs replacing I think it’s as old as the house. We did have a kitchen put in as we only had a sink in it. We have a shower enclosure it is so good to have.

I have that same problem, limited space for a refrigerator. The counter that meets that space has an over hang, so when I get ready for a new refrigerator, we will definitely measure to see if taking that lip off and adding a couple of inches will get me a bigger refrigerator. If so, I'll be a happy lady!! I would also like a bigger shower instead of this one that you can't turn around in.

@snowy22315 I do miss it in the summer time. But like I said a true pain since you can't bend over or move around much in it.

I would like a walk in closet. I have one in Florida and it is such a treat. It helps keep me organized.

Sis has a teeny tiny kitchen and at one time they had 4 people living in that house, I don't know how they managed. They like the house though because it is paid off and gives them lots of extra cash per month.

I got a new fridge a few years ago with the freezer on the bottom. I like it so much better than my old one. I would love to replace my small shower in my master bathroom for a much larger one. Its not something I need but would like Meanwhile my current project is the stairs and hallway upstairs and I'm waiting for the flooring.

I'd replace the carpets with tiles or faux wood but it's not a very big deal. Only the bedrooms and office are carpeted but it's very dark and every little speck shows.

I wouldn't mind an extra fridge, but we can't afford that much electricity no matter how new the fridge would be. The current one is perfect but always full, I just want two. I don't know what I would replace, maybe I'd get a smaller desk so I can add a standing desk and have two desks in my room. Really, I'd love to try a standing desk!
