Hubby's Request For My Help Today

Yesterday, my husband asked me what my plans were for today and I told him. He then asked if I could spare a few minutes to help him do something outside. I said sure, what do you need? His reply was just hold a measuring tape for him. I, of course, said sure! We got the measurements done and then he hit me with another one. He asked if I would help him move the canoe over. He wants to hang it in his storage container, but today he just wanted it moved from the current location to over by the garage for the tractor. So we moved the saw horses and one end of the canoe alternating until we got it moved from horizontal to vertical and along the edge of the garage. He will be asking again soon for me to help him move it to the storage container... It didn't take long at all, just about 10 minutes. He is prepping for his new project which will be building a winter cabin so he doesn't freeze next winter. It will be a fun project to see through! Photo Credit: Pixabay, Public Domain

@jstory07 Exactly! I'm very surprised that he is taking this on right now. He has been waiting to finish up the boat he bought from his brother and get it in the water!

Not at all! He cut a tree down for me today that was next to the chicken coop but had a branch sticking out that always hit me. I just asked for the branch to be cut off and he took the whole tree out.

@kareng I know some people are like that. Neighbor was freaked out by the trees between my house and hers, so had them removed instead of trimmed. Annoyed me because I liked the shade from the tree. talk about ver doing it.

@wolfgirl569 It's a wonder half of his tools and things still work the way he throws them down when 1) it doesn't start 2) he makes a boo-boo 3) it breaks

It's going to be time consuming and I'm not sure how close he will get to finishing if we have an early winter. Knock on wood!

I bet he is glad to have you around! Don't you live in a house? Why would a winter cabin be warmer?..maybe cozier..but warmer than a house?

@snowy22315 Yes, it was designed to have air flow in the hot summers. Winters used to not be as harsh down here as they are now.

Our house was built in 1860 and has NO insulation at all. It has 9 ft. ceilings and impossible to heat this place.

I told him when he finishes we can build a new chicken coop. LOL. He didn't jump to commit to that, just asked why we needed a new one. I told him the original one is getting old and we have a new design that we want to implement with built in next boxes so he took it into consideration!

@sallypup Yes, this one is bigger than we really need it to be, but he insists.

@kareng We just had a shed built in back- cost us five arms and five legs and we still dont have a door or windows in it. Hubby had to have the thing.

He's going to need luck in staying on the cabin project and not the boat project or fishing.

You have been a great helper from what I read. Plus, it looks like a well productive and husband and wife team-oriented day! Moving the canoe should have been challenging. Luckily it took only 10 minutes. I like the winter cabin project idea. It does sound exciting. Sure, it will be great to see once completed. I am also sure he would need a bit of helping hands along the different phases. And I am sure you would be happy to help and provide ideas to him. Do give us updates on the project , especially when it is all ready. Have a great weekend ahead!
