Marathon sessions at myLot

There was a time at myLot when we used to have marathon sessions discussing a particular issue that sometimes ran into days
Today at best there will be just two or three interactions and most of them will have comments such as "great" "nice" "good" "keep up"
And then we say we do not earn.
Buck up guys and let's talk to each other as we used to, in the good old days

@sjvg1976 myLot has been having early morning (for me) problems lately. Some days it works fine and other days it is down for a few minutes to an hour. Today was unusual for the length of time it was down.

Very true. I couldn't access myLot from about 3 am until just now at 11:15 am. (I MIGHT have been able to access a few minutes earlier but had fallen asleep after trying and trying to access the site and failing.)
I was worried the site was down for good.

When there is something interesting to me for me to talk about, then I talk and play. It's true that good conversations used to be had here. Too many of the "discussions" we see come up on the site now are about food, weather or 
sports. Is there any wonder when those end up with a couple of lines of interest from a person and then they move on to something more interesting to them?

@sjvg1976 Yes, political posts usually get a pass from me, too. There's nothing I can do about what the idiot is saying or doing so I ignore those...
Yup! Even I am more serious on myLot than I used to be. Sometimes things can still be funny but too many serious things are happening and I can't joke and play like I used to. .

I think the best way to have real discussions is to take inspiration from social media such as Facebook. To be more specific, bring some controversial topic.
There are still conversations taking place in the comments here but they're indeed rare.

Yeah, it's true that there are still controversial topics happening on other sites but I don't use other sites so only hear about things like that here on myLot and I avoid controversy when I can. I don't like to "argue" when nothing will come of it.
We can't fix the things going wrong in the world by talking about them here so why bother?

@somewitch Believe it or not, there used to be people who enjoyed the controversy on myLot. I was not one of them. 
(And yes, they earned a lot of money arguing back and forth. I never could tell how serious they were being so stayed well away from those conversations.)

Ah, the good old days. Were you around back then? I started in 2008, and I do remember a lot of interaction between certain myLotters. Occasionally I was involved and it was great fun, from what I remember.

@Orson_Kart What I remmeber the most is about how some would get together and run down another user. And that is not seen here these days which is a good thing. Yes. I remeber the best answer option and the limit of emojis we could use. The format was also different.

I do a lot online and I am here for a while at the end of each afternoon. I get paid every other month so this one I sat out but I will get the February pay. I try to respond as best and much I can.

@porwest I had picked up a post and made a comment on it just like you do picking old posts. That post had 102 responses. I picked one response of the one who is currently here and commented on it.
That post is deleted. I do not know why. That would have given the new users to know what a discussion really is

Okay. Currently, I am depressed. I prepared so hard for this exam and the exam didn't go well. Results are on 19th March. I have started preparing again for next year though.
