What a wonderful 59!

Yesterday was our 59th wedding anniversary. We drove to a city about an hour away, did a little shopping, then ate at our favorite Mexican restaurant, which was yummy.
Came home, got a short nap (old people, lol), then got dressed up, enjoyed some wine and remembered our wedding day.
We met about 4pm on March 12 on a blind date. We went to a drive in movie with another couple and I think I fell for him right away. He was tall, had black hair with a kind of Elvis look, and was a southern boy, all the things I liked.
We married the next March 12 at 4pm, exactly a year to the hour after we met!
On most of our anniversaries we don't exchange gifts and had agreed to that this year. But after we got home, he brought out a wrapped box....my first laptop! I love it. All I had for him was a card.
I've always liked my desktop more than typing on my cell phone, but sitting at the desk makes my neck hurt, even with a good chair.
Dale's had several laptops over the years, but this is my first. It has a nice big screen, but a little smaller that fits well on my lap. Now I can sit in my recliner and play on line when Dale's watching his Mountain Men shows on TV.
So, a very nice surprise on our anniversary. I really appreciate all the kind congrats from you guys. Thanks!!

Even though we were so young, we knew right away that we were meant for each other.

I never wanted one until my neck hurt too much at the desktop. I think I'll love this one.

I'm so glad you had a good anniversary. I love my laptop. I have a special table that fits around the footrest of my recliner. I can sit with my feet up and type. They are Table-Mate tray tables. Just make sure they fit around the footrest if you should decide to get one.

@1creekgirl You're welcome. They are usually pretty expensive; but we have about 6 of them; and they are quite old by now and holding up well.

I can tell I'm going to enjoy it much more than typing with two fingers on my phone.

This is really awesome! I am glad you've had all those long years together. It is a huge blessing. Most couples rarely get beyond 30th anniversary

It sounds like a truly wonderful day and I am so glad you both enjoyed it.
I haven't had a desktop computer for years, and I don't want one. They take up so much space, and I like being able to close the laptop and take it with me when I need to be somewhere else. Staring at a phone for long periods is really hard on the eyes for me.

My favorite part is going to be being able to type on a keyboard.
