Those red fire ants, I hate them the most! They look good on that photo but they are not cool and cute at all. Their bite stings. Since it is summer now here, I can see them almost every day here on my kitchen counter. But today, I saw them in my daughter's room. They are coming out from the electrical outlet beside the bed and my daughter saw them on the bedding. And I just changed the bedding and cleaned it yesterday. At night time, I spray vinegar on the kitchen counter but I cannot on my daughter's bedroom. For now, I put the chalk roach and ants killer. A few days back, I played with them putting them in a bowl of water. But they are making me go crazy as time goes by Any advice?

I haven't seen fire ants in my part of Missouri yet but we have tiny black ants that love to come in around our kitchen window. Every year, I send Pretty out with a good ant spray and she sprays around the windows and along the base of the house with it. After that, we don't see them again until the next spring. Vinegar and Diatomaceous Earth (a chalk-like substance made from fossilized algae) are both good for keeping ants away. Vinegar interrupts the scent trails (signals) that ants leave everywhere they walk and confuses them. They don't like the scent vinegar leaves behind. Diatomaceous Earth gets into the ants' armor and dries them out and kills them. I hate ants of all kinds. I hope you can get rid or them.

You have got some good advices here in the comments below. Hope that they are helpful. Cloves keep ants away. You can keep few in your daughter's bedding, below mattress and pillows and see if it helps. They are not cute at all, they are annoying.

Interesting that cloves work...will have to try that one, as it is the time ants start appearing where I live.

I am not sure my daughter would like to smell that in her bedding and pillow but I can try. Yes, they are definitely not cute and totally annoying

Oh that would be concerning. I hope you can get rid of them. DE that @DaddyEvil is talking about below is a good choice and a natural way to get rid of ants and other pests.

Oh yes, I am trying to look into that. For now, I have a chalk for roach and ants. I am not sure if it is the same content with DaddyEvil said but so far, no ants today

but no one eats inside my daughter's room. It is actually a rule here that we don't bring food to our rooms.

Red ants can bite through bones. I once saw them eating chicken bones that I threw away in my backyard. like other comments they don't like the smell of vinegar or honey.

I agree that those red fire ants have a nasty bite. Ants can certainly find the tiniest of spaces to come through. Hope you can find a way to get rid of them.

They've found their way to Australia. At least they're the same ones. They are apparently very bad to have around. I hope you're able to get rid of them.

call pest control is the next best thing to do is my thought cause them things can really hurt & can do some damage if a person is stung enough., their almost like bees.
