Okay, I am About to Bury Bodies, Here

I have the hiccups, and I swear, I am about to become a serial killer. It's the most annoying thing I can think of. I have held my breath. I've tried everything. But I have had the hiccups now for at least the last 20 minutes or so and I am about ready to bury bodies. This is torture, and it's starting to hurt. Have you ever had a case of the hiccups. How do you deal with it? How do you get rid of them? This is beginning to piss me off.

Put lots of ice and water in a big glass. Let it sit a few minutes, then take the ice out. Now, gargle with the ice water, several times back to back. I don't know the science of why it works, but it does work, at least it did for my Dad and my son.

Hmm. I may have to give that a go the next time I get a case of them. Luckily, they stopped shortly after I wrote this.

Back in the day we were told to stick a matchstick behind our ear. I never tried it. Nice picture by the way.

Were you supposed to light the matchstick before sticking it behind your ear? Maybe the fear of getting burned would scare the hiccups out of you?

Hmm. I wonder how that's supposed to help? As for the picture, it's Bobby Liebling, the front man for the band Pentagram. His image seemed fitting for the situation. lol

I just ignore them and they go away. I hope you've gotten rid of them by now.

Does drinking lots of water help? My hiccups can be loud. Are yours?

They can be loud, especially when I have had them for a while. Sometimes drinking water helps, other times not. Luckily, I don't get them that often. They annoy the hell out of me.

Dang, man, put your makeup back on! I’ve started having hiccups more recently after not being bothered with them for decades. Wonder if age affects that. Here’s a WebMD article that might help you decide which home remedy to utilize.
There are a few common triggers of hiccups, including dietary habits and emotional states. Learn what you can do to stop them quickly.

I don't really know what helps with hiccups. My uncle did cure my Mum's by getting into an argument with her. After a few minutes of back and forth arguing, he said 'how's your hiccups' and they'd gone.

Try drinking water upside down or biting on a lemon—sometimes the shock helps. Hope they stop before things get messy!

They can be rather annoying. If you can think of nothing more than the hiccups they refuse to go away
