I mentioned in a comment that our friend brought a beef and Guinness pie for us to eat and someone asked what it was. Pies are something I take very much for granted so I wasn’t sure what I needed to explain.
Maybe it’s like an American pot pie. The one in the photo is the one we ate and it would serve four quite easily. The filling is mostly beef pieces in a rich, Guinness-flavoured gravy.
You can also make or buy smaller individual pies which are popular as lunches for workers.
Fillings can vary enormously with a variety of savoury or sweet fillings. The fillings are encased in a pastry case. The pastry can be of several types too. We enjoyed this one and had the leftovers for our lunch.

It was very good. I'd buy another any day - not that I bought this one! lol

Your savory pie seems very good. It is a well made crust. I am not sure I would want Guinness flavored gravy, though.

You can't taste the Guinness but maybe it helped add a bit of flavour.

I attended cooking classes and one of the items we made there was mince pie.
