Last night I dreamed myself to be hospitalised. I don’t know from which ailment I was suffering, but someone mentioned inguinal hernia so I went with that. The doctor told the nurse to give me an injection of chloromycetin which even I knew wasn’t going to repair a hernia, but I bowed to her greater knowledge. Then I succumbed to a dose of acute angst because I wasn’t sure which of my two buttocks I should offer to the nurse for the injection. However I needn’t have troubled myself because the nurse (with a quite fulsome beard) arrived and injected the chloromycetin into my gum rather my bum. I woke up. It was just after midnight and I didn’t get a wink of sleep thereafter.

The mind can concoct such weird dreams. I'm usually glad when I wake up.
