It is summer here and anything cool and cold is in demand I have no access to sugar cane juice but I know how refreshing it is.
The hawkers get their ware with a sugarcane crushing machine and some add a touch of ime juice and crushed ice.
Jus the right thing to cool oneself in this hot weather

I've seen some Filipino friends talking about drinking juice from sugar cane and once, I think it was @vandana7 who mentioned she bought some from a street vendor.
We don't get things like that where I live. Sugar cane grows here but it's just for looks. We had a large patch of sugar cane at our last house and Pretty would harvest some of it in the fall and boil it down to make syrup to use on her pancakes. (I don't like pancakes so didn't try it. She seemed happy with it, though.)

Pretty boiled the sugarcane How did she do it? You need a crusher to extract the juice and then may be boil it.

@DaddyEvil No doubt Prety got what she wanted but seemed a long winded process.

@allknowing She cut the stems into sections about 4 inches long/about 10 cm long, added water and set it to a slow boil. As the pan boiled the water away, she added more water and kept boiling. After about six hours, she tasted it, took out the sugar cane and kept boiling until only about 1/3 of the liquid was left. She used that liquid as syrup.

I miss that! When I was a kid, my mom used to buy us sugarcane. We didn’t juice it—we just chewed on it and enjoyed its natural sweetness. It was so good! It’s been a long time since I’ve had one, though sugarcane juice is widely available here.

@dfollin "Our Lady" is a common title for Mary, the mother of Jesus, used in Christianity, particularly in Catholicism, as a sign of respect and honor. '
I endorse what the Net says

I love surgane juice with lime and black salt. I avoid them now as they sell it on the streets without following hygiene.

When one is thirsty I suppose the hygiene part is forgotten.

One of my favourite drinks, but I can't indulge in it. I had one glass yesterday with lime and some masala. It was awesome. My daughters love it.

I have never heard of Sugar Cane juice or a crusher of that kind. But sound's good! I would like to try it. Wonder if I can make it home made?

I make it a point to drink sugar cane juice at least once every summer. In fact, each season, each fruit is a must for me. I feel god must have filled something in the seasonal fruits for helping us in the season to ward off something. We get nice sugar cane juice in Jubilee Hills near banks...I already finished my yearly quota.
