I was given flowers today

I wrote about how my external hard drive got dropped and for a time we thought I’d lost all my photos. It was an accident but Vince caught his foot in a cord and pulled the laptop and drive off my lap. Today he bought me these beautiful flowers which was very nice of him. As it happens, a technician has been able to salvage all bar a few of the photos which is wonderful news. Now we’re looking at getting an improved back-up system.

I think perhaps 100 photos might have been lost which, in the scale of things, is nothing.

I would have hated losing so many photos. I could have collected some from other places but it would have taken forever.

I've been lucky photo-wise. I guess the best of them I could have recovered trawling through my myLot discussions but it would have been a slow process.

Wow, that must’ve been such a scare thinking all your photos were gone. So glad most of them were recovered — that’s such a relief. And the flowers were a really sweet gesture after all that. Getting a better back-up system sounds like a great idea. It’s one of those things you don’t think about until something happens!

Accidents do happen. It seems there is no perfect back up. Lovely flowers do not happen by themselves. These are very pretty.

This is a great news ! Even the loss of a few pictures and videos can unsettle us a lot. A proper backup plan is always much needed.
