Lavatree blues.

The bubble monkeys were at their nonsense again tonight. They mixed some of grandma’s special recipe with my coffee and I woke up later with these poetic thoughts firmly etched on my brain. Read them with a slow lilt if you dare, but make sure to cross your fingers, eyes and toes as you do so.
I baked an almond cookie
I poured a cup of tea
You made me sit quite stiffly
On a painted lavatree.
You flushed away my sorrow
You wiped away my tears
You washed my hands in sulphur
At the meeting of the years.
